Vaccination requirements for France

How many jabs are required in total to avoid testing?
I am trying to figure out the vaccine requirements for France for DH and I this year. Some websites say a booster is required within 4 months of initial jab, others say 9 months. By booster, do they mean the second of the initial course, or jab #3? We have only had the first 2 each, but we got them ASAP. Due to that plus when #3 became available in our area and then catching covid so not being eligible for a further month, we would've struggled to be within the 9 month window anyway (if it does indeed mean a third jab). Can anyone shed further light on this?

If you have had 2 jabs and 9 months have passed since then then you need a booster to be fully vaccinated

You have to have had the booster . I don’t think there is an expiry date.
If no booster, the time after the second jab should be within 9 months.

If you are aged 18 and over and have not received a booster, but have received two doses of a vaccine approved for use by France, then no more than 9 months must have passed since your second dose, to qualify as fully vaccinated.

If you have received a booster, you are considered fully vaccinated for entry into France. There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.

OK, so as it has been more than 9 months since jab #2, we are classed as unvaccinated. If we were to get #3 now, would we once again be classed as vaccinated? Or has that ship sailed because we're outside the 9 months?
We have nothing against getting #3 BTW, it just dropped right off our priority list after having had 2 plus covid itself, with infection levels falling and restrictions lifting.

If you get the booster you'd be fully vaccinated again

FootontheHeartbreak · 05/07/2022 07:17

Or just get a test before you leave.

We don't want the lottery of taking a test ideally. If you can test positive on a PCR for weeks after you've had it, not just when actively contagious, it really ramps up the risk of a positive test given we're not routinely being sent off to test for every snivel or close contact any more. I only knew I had covid because I took a precautionary PCR before too as so many around me had it (DH had some mild symptoms but I was asymptotic), so there's a good chance it would be a very unwelcome surprise!
Thank you all, I have booked my booster and will get DH to do the same.

It would be much clearer if simply worded: You are vaccinated if you have received the first 3 doses no matter when the third was given, or are within 9 months of receiving the initial two doses!

Yes I agree. We are going in September and I hope the rules change by then.
