Anyone driving through Rouen in July and can understand the low emissions air policy in France?

Driving to Vendee at the start of the summer holidays and looking at the route - Google maps is informing me Rouen is part of the low emission zone and the rules change from 1st July. I've looked at several websites and can't work out whether this just applies to commercial vehicles until September or whether it's all cars?
Mine is a diesel which doesn't help. I have applied for the Crit'Air sticker but still not sure what Euro standard my car is deemed to be. Also the Crit'Air sticker may take up to six weeks to arrive.

It may just be easier to not drive through Rouen and divert elsewhere. Anyone else in this situation?

Here’s what I can find

I shall be driving through in September I suspect, don’t do a Friday either if you can help it as it’s a blardy nightmare

id love to know what the alternative is though🤷‍♀️

I guess a ferry to Caen would be the only viable alternative

ivykaty44 · 27/06/2022 13:41

Tbh by the time you’ve used fuel it’s probably no difference in price to get the ferry from Cherbourg to Poole or visa versa

I am assuming you will be using the Dover to Calais ferry?
I have looked for the route on Google maps and saw the notification you mentioned. However when I clicked on it, the link said at the moment only lorries are affected. Private vehicles are currently exempt until September first...unless the link is not accurate.

Yes , well using the Eurotunnel to cross to Calais. I know the cost will be high due diesel prices but too many sea sick travellers to face the ferry. Good to know its just for lorrys currently. Thanks- will take a look.

Can I just ask if your Crit'air sticker arrived yet? I am wondering how long they are taking.

Jofergo · 08/07/2022 07:58

There is a link to find out your euro 6 rating on the internet. I got to it via the london ULEZ page - put in Reg number and it tells you.
at work so have no time to find you the link.

I did the same a few a months ago (same route). I applied for the Critair sticker as we go to France a lot (and was only a few euros). You don’t need the actual sticker, the email confirmation is fine, mine only arrived when we returned.

It does look like it is only applicable to commercial vehicles this summer? Am I reading that correctly?

CredibilityProblem · 08/07/2022 08:23

London ULEZ checker will help you with your vehicle classification

This is an easy to understand guide:

www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/emissions/euro-emissions-standards/#my-cars-standard

It's basically down to how old your car is.

@artisanbread - it said a week on the Crit'Air site so I'll let you know! I'm not worried if it doesn't turn up as we don't need one for Rouen according to @ivykaty44's link (thanks for that) but as it has no expiry date and guessing they'll roll it out, makes sense to stick it on now.
