Child free holiday needed - but no sun

Finally after 18years we have the opportunity to have a child free holiday. Next week!

I am very sensitive to the sun and heat so I'm looking for locations no sunnier/hotter than the UK. Every holiday I've seen seems to be Spain, Turkey etc so big no goes.

I'm looking for somewhere quiet, secluded and child free. Uk or abroad.

Any ideas?

For Iceland we just booked flights, hired a car and drove our way around the island stopping in various hotels, apartments or hostels.

Definitely expensive. But we absolutely would repeat the experience.

We went in June.

I would love to do the same for Norway too.
