Package holidays to Brittany

We would like to go on holiday to Brittany this August with two young children. I’m thinking sandy beaches, place/apartment with a pool, not too hot, lots of potential days out etc.

Booking the ferry is no problem but I’m struggling to find accommodation. Can anyone recommend a travel company that will ‘build’ the holiday for us? Google isn’t helping me! Tia

Brittany Ferries?

Otherwise you could try Sandaya, Canvas holidays, Eurocamp.

Brittany Ferries do accommodation as well but it's quite late to be booking for this August. Plenty of sites to find houses though but not so many with a pool as it's just not as consistently hot. Do you want to be on a site or in a private house/flat?

Eurocamp always have availability left in Northern France (I used to work for them years ago)

Also look at Yelloh Village (their campsites are lovely).

You don't really need a package, just book a ferry and the accom separately.

If you have Facebook Gîte Owners in France is worth a look

I’ve tried Brittany ferries. They are really short on accommodation this year as lots of places didn’t renew their contracts - covid related according to the guy.

I think because we will have a long drive to catch the ferry uk side, I was looking for someone who knows the area and could say this place is great for above reasons.

I’ll Google those mention above, thank you. And yes, we may be too late for this year. Is it not warmer than the Uk…we don’t want Spain hot but want more reliable/sunny weather than Uk!

@Beakyok I have a gîte in France and everyone is complaining about a lack of bookings this year!

SwedishEdith · 26/06/2022 14:41

It should be warmer than uk but can be unreliable so may get cloudy/rainy days as well. What's your budget? What crossing will you take?

Yodaisawally · 26/06/2022 15:25

The weather can be bad, it's usually the same as home which is London for us. It can be heatwave / lovely / wet / cold. You need to go further south to get much different.

samthebordercollie · 26/06/2022 15:50

Brittany Ferries stopped the gite advertising this year, that is why there aren't any holiday rentals there
I used to have gites and advertised on Airbnb, babyfriendlyboltholes, Sawdays etc, there may not be many left with pools, proximity to beach etc: now
The weather is slightly warmer and drier than in the UK at least where I am in the east, on the west coast it's wetter, obviously:

Southern Brittany is lovely. Look at this site:

en.campingdelabaie.com/ or it's sister site camping la plage.

Been there lots of times, perfect family site, right by clean safe beaches, sand, rock pools, you can walk into La Trinitea - easy to book direct, Brittany Ferries to Roscoff or St Malo (bit further to drive in France but not too far)

newtb · 26/06/2022 16:09

Try www.amivac.com, for self-catering houses, gîtes etc, some with pools.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 26/06/2022 16:12

Definitely look on AirBnB and Vrbo for options; I've always found plenty.

Some great links thank you! I think we’ve left it too late for this summer but we now know what we want for next year! :-)
