Would you use p&o ferries if there were no other options? (safety)

P&O are the only company that accepts foot passengers. I was reluctant to use them because of their ethics but looking into it more they've had a few safety concerns. It will be our first holiday since 2019 but now I'm worried about the safety...

On one hand they sound awful but on the other hand at least that means someone is checking the ferries and the ones that are active are safe? Would you use them if there were no other options? (inc eurostar etc)

No other options? Where are you going and how are you travelling? What about Eurolines? Though I would check which ferry company they use. I wouldn't use P&O if I could possibly avoid it, but I the regulators have been all over them and they wouldn't be sailing at all if there were big safety concerns.

you can go as a foot passenger on some of the Brittany Ferries routes.
I would use dfds for Dover to Calais if possible.
i expect the p and o ships themselves are ok as they have just passed safely checks. I suspect the onboard experience would not be the same as pre covid and that would put me off but I’d probably use them if it were the only option.

No we've literally looked through everything for our dates :/

That's true! It's our first trip overseas with our daughter and I'm quite nervous/obviously don't want to put us in any danger!

I've looked into both of those and they don't do the Dover - Calais route and with dfds you can only go if you take a car (which we wouldn't) Thats good to know though, thank you for your reply!

Could you go euro tunnel and then trains in France?

Eurolines will go Dover Calais - either Eurotunnel or ferry. Where are you trying to get to?
