Somewhere with nice resorts with good amenities for kids, but walking distance to a nice resort town as opposed to stuck on an out of the way all inc resort, slightly upmarket rather than brits abroady, lots of choice for restaurants (family of veggies) large beaches with white soft sand not stoney, warm seas, hot but not too hot in July/August (nothing 30+)

Budget up to £3k for a week

Where fits the bill?!

Fuerteventura. I like Correlejo in the north. Some great restaurants in the old town.

Maxifly · 21/06/2022 19:34

Gijon, Northern Spain.

Puerto Pollensa was very nice. Sandy, safe beach, plenty of shade, much quieter than other resorts. Lots of accessible restaurants. Attracted families and older people. A quick search on Jet2.com showed availability with luggage incl in July for 7 nights for around £2.500.

Go in September: the sea will have had all summer to warm up (seas are warmest at the end of summer), but the air will be starting to cool down a bit.

TheRoadToRuin · 21/06/2022 21:53

Crete says between 27-32 which sounds doable!

Crete is hotter than hell in August. Those temps must be at night😂

Fifiellz · 21/06/2022 22:02

Puerto Pollensca is gorgeous with little children. Walk the pine walk along the beach at night and there's lots of child friendly restaurants around the square.

Sandy beach, shallow water and not stupid hot.

Jersey

It's on the North Sea; it never really gets that warm there.

The weather forecast for Park Zandvoort tomorrow is 28 degrees.

PacificState · 22/06/2022 10:03

Was also going to say Ile de Re. Temperature is exactly as you describe (although it's Atlantic coast so sea isn't exactly balmy). Sandy beaches, fantastic little towns, good restaurants (lots of pizza and cheese and pasta on offer). Have a look at the camping site (Sunelia Interlude) next to Le Bois Plage. Only downside is that it's pretty busy in August - it's Cornwall for Parisians

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 22/06/2022 10:06

Cambrils? That's a lovely little place and you can get a short boat ride to salou which is a bigger town. There is a huge water park just outside of salou too - portaventura.

AnyFucker · 22/06/2022 10:08

Jersey
Scilly Isles
I second Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise in Lanzarote but you won’t get guaranteed sun even with the 4.5 hour flight and the sea is chilly
Croatia is gorgeous

ChangedMyNamrButStillMe · 22/06/2022 11:34

@AnyFucker £3k for a week in the Isles of Scilly in summer? Unless you’re camping you’ve no chance. Even if you have the money most places are booked up years in advance.

The post was about the water temperature.

MissAmbrosia · 24/06/2022 09:16

Sardinia for white sand beaches. Alghero or Cannigione.

OompaLoompaa · 24/06/2022 20:59

St Brelades Bay, Jersey, now that’s what I call a beach.

Mossiebonbon · 10/09/2023 18:26

@TheRoadToRuin would you mind sharing where you stayed?

Ile de re.

I go there every summer and get by with my very basic high school French and many people have good English especially he younger waitpeople in restaurants.
