Longish flight with 5yo - is it best to book 3 in a row or have two together and one elsewhere so the other person can have a break!

I was about to book 3 in a row when I thought about this. I guess it is better to be all together but I know dh will read the paper and I will be left entertaining dd...

I'd do 3 in a row.

Give her a Nintendo ds and she'll be fine!

CountessDracula · 15/01/2008 12:22

I don't even know what one of those is

Definitely three in a row. Play a card game that needs 3!

oh yes good point
She is pretty good on flights usually but this is 10 hours or something - we have portable dvd player too

offer to look after the newspaper and then oops lose it.

DrNortherner · 15/01/2008 12:31

Seriously she'll love it. Keeps them occupied for hours......

Handy in these type of situations

Book two together then 1 single opposite aisle.

I have just done the Aus to UK flight twice with a 9 yo, 7yo and 4 yo and it is 23 hours. They were fascinated with the inflight entertainment which has tons of kids shows, movies and games. They also get fed on a very regular basis. The dc wished the flight was longer .

I would tend to agree with mymama, partly because she obviously knows what she's talking about and partly because this gives you two aisle seat, which is good. Makes life easier.
Depends on the airline as to what inflight ents you get but it can keep them going literally the whole way. We did Emirates and it was superb.

We did two seats together and three opposite aisle. In our case it worked well as 9yo dd is easy so we took turns sitting next to her for a "break".

Good idea to sit midway between toilets too. Not right near them as a bit ewww and really busy with people going in and out.

Ours did have Nintendo ds lites (even 4yo ). They didn't use them on plane but were brilliant for the 2 hour wait before boarding.
