I suggest for the next few months do anything at all that YOU want to do. He'll sleep in the pushchair and be interested in anything you are interested in so go to galleries, museums, shopping, cafes, Covent Garden (the market rather than the Opera House!). In a very short time all this sort of stuff will get much more difficult, so enjoy it while you can!

OP is a Dad, I think. My eldest liked art galleries at that age. At least she never objected when I took her to them. We also did lots of long walks (she did not actually do the walking bit clearly). I was quite fond of popping her in the sling and going into central London on the Tube - as long as there were interesting things to look at she didn't mind.
Softplay is the work of the devil. Wait till he is a year or so and you HAVE to go.

sparklesandwine · 08/02/2008 16:07

Until your DS can hold his own avoid soft play like the plague!

It would be worth finding out if there are any baby groups near you (your Health Visitor/surgery should be able to give you a list of these), my DS's have been going to a local music/singing group since they were babies and they love this, our local library also has a 'story time' session once a week too where they have a story reader come in to read and then do activities after the stories and rhymes

wouldn't worry about filling your days too much yet just find out whats going on try a few and see what you like

Good luck and enjoy yourself!
