Would you book an easyjet package at the moment?

Hi, easyjet seem to be cheapest at the moment for packages for when I want to go (October half term) but with the way things are at the moment, I'm wary of booking with them.

We've never been abroad so I really don't fancy our first holiday ever being cancelled.

Would you book an easyjet package holiday at the moment?

@Iamanunsafebuilding That’s good to hear. Good luck to your DD.

No, because you are going at half term means you probably either have DC or work school hours and would it be ok if you were stuck there for a week, obviously if you are retired or work is very flexible it wouldn't be so disruptive so I would then probably book in that circumstance

Dh flew in to Gatwick this morning from Portugal. No check in luggage and about 10 mins to get through security.
no problems whatsoever.

Writersbloc · 13/06/2022 11:35

Sorry getting through security was on the Portugal side!

Got our compensation for our cancelled flights yesterday. £210 pp, so happy with that.

met a family in portugal last week on an easyjet holiday package. Return flight was cancelled just as they were leaving for the airport. They were offered a flight home 4 days later to the wrong airport which they took but had to pay for the extra accomodation themselves - they were going to send easyjet holidays the bill but no guarantee they would be reimbursed. I expect their expenses will be coughed up but they were totally useless at the time, uncontactable etc.

Noooo. Resist, resist! Their flights can be cheap (not always mind you) but resist because the consequences of having your flight cancelled with Easyjet are truly awful. We had our return flights cancelled with them a few years ago and didn't know until we arrived at check in. We and lots of passengers were left high and dry at the airport. We paid a fortune to get the last tickets available on a BA flight at the last minute and made it home. Then began the sole destroying, time consuming process of making a claim which they don't make easy. I vowed then to never fly with Easyjet again and I have stuck with it and feel a sense of relief when I see what happens. I had almost wavered and booked with them for this half term because they were offering convenient flights to my desired destination from Gatwick. I am so glad I resisted and stuck to my guns of avoiding them at all costs. We went on to have a lovely holiday with relatively smooth travel. Half term has replenished my resolve to avoid Easyjet for a least another few years.
