Is £3k enough for a 10 night Vancouver stay?

Hi,
Anyone who has been to Vancouver/Whistler in Canada-is £3k enough for ten nights. We have two AirBnB's booked and one night in the hotel at Vancouver airport. So, we have a kitchen mist of the time so we don't have to eat out each evening. We tend to get a sandwich at lunchtime. Car is already paid for. It's for two adults and one teen. Not planning on spending loads but there are a few places we want to go to. Just panicking it's not enough but that's £300 per day which would go a long way in England!

Hi - we went 4 years ago but only spent 5 nights in Vancouver and I'm sure we didn't spend nearly that amount. Two adults and two young teens. We had a kitchenette in our hotel and remember having dinner there a good few nights having been to a lovely supermarket (although food there wasn't particularly cheap as I remember).

I guess it depends on what activities you want to do. We were on a budget so couldn't do everything on offer but enjoyed the aquarium and decided to blow quite a bit on a whale watching day which was an experience. DH took the DC to the big park with a pool, sorry can't remember the name, and hired some bikes for the day.

We also had a day at Granville (?) Island which had a good food market- everything card based (this was pre-covid) so DC miffed that they couldn't use money to buy a donut but had to use our credit card!!

Hope that's helpful- I seem to remember that we didn't find Canada terribly cheap but we managed fine.

We're a family of four and usually budget £100 per day on holiday (+ more if doing expensive activities - but the prices of these can usually be found online in advance to assist with planning). But if that's your food/entertainment budget and doesn't include flights, accommodation or car hire I'd say it will be plenty.

Thanks.
I'm thinking of doing a free activity one day and then something with a reasonable price tag the next with a couple of more expensive activities in there to mix it up a bit. I know we won't need to eat out all the time and I will try and take a packed lunch if we can during the day (although I doubt I will as I'm on holiday). I'll definitely use the kitchen every other evening, or if we haven't been too far away though.
I have made a list (from TripAdvisor) of free things to do so will definitely be doing Stanley Park. Not sure about the aquarium as we've been to loads in the UK and they're probably all the same. Might give that a miss. I'll probably use the Skytrain when in Vancouver and may hire bikes in Whistler.

Oh, the £3k is separate from the flights, car hire and accommodation - I've already paid for those.

Vancouver is fabulous! I also highly recommend going over to Vancouver Island (a large island the size of England!) it's absolutely bloody stunning. Spent a lot of time there as a kid and the outskirts of the city of Victoria on Vancouver Island island is honestly my favourite place on earth

I’m assuming you want to use the Skytrain to get from the airport to where you are staying? It’s slow!

However your budget is ok if you don’t eat out a lot. Go and see whales - definitely. The museum on BC history of the native peoples is first class. The bus out to BC university takes forever though! Granville Island is fun for shopping. Capilano bridge is worth a visit and of course Stanley Park and the cycle routes. Richmond night market is a possibility too. Look at Lonely Planet for good recommendations. Better than TA!!!

The best thing we did in Vancouver was go to the baseball. It’s a really small old fashioned ground and it was so much fun. It wasn’t free but it was quite cheap.

Yes it's fine, I though that included hotels! I budget £200 a day. Prices in Vancouver and whistler are ok, you have cheaper and more expensive options for eating out

I went to Vancouver Island about 20 years ago. I'll try and fit a trip in to take the kids but not sure we will have the time.

No, I'm picking up a car at the airport. First night we are staying at The Radisson so I can recover from the flight and get used to driving in Canada. Then heading up to Whistler.

We have a soccer game booked at the stadium but I'll have a look into baseball! Sounds fun!

I'm a big fan of Virgin River too so hoping to see a few of the filming locations. I've made a list!

I went a few years ago with DH and toddler DS and we loved it too! We really enjoyed North Vancouver - Capilano Bridge park and Grouse Mountain were fun. You'd need to change your accommodation plans to visit Vancouver Island I think as it's quite a long way for a day trip.

As for Vancouver, I recommend visiting the waterfront in New Westminster and trying out the Paddlewheeler Pub for a meal. There's boat rides right outside. The last time I was there (in that area) was 1993! Fond memories
