Guaranteed sun in August but not roasting hot

Where in Europe is good for (almost) guaranteed sun in July / August - ie good enough to lounge by the pool weather - but not likely to get horrible heatwave?

Daily temps of 22-25 would be just perfect!

We went to the Vosges area of France, where it was a reliable 22 most of the time.

Don't go too high though as it starts to get cooler.

Lanzarote

The breezes keep it cool, but need to remember to apply sunscreen anyway

For average temperatures of around 22 or 23, and monthly sunshine hours of 230-240ish, places sitting on the Baltic sea hit the mark. They're less, err, baltic than they sound in August. Colour me surprised when it turned out southern Scandinavia has warmer, sunnier summers than we do.

For more sunshine than that, you'd need to go further south, and risk sweltering if the heat rolled in. Anywhere coastal will be more predictable in terms of temperatures if that's the priority, because of the insulating effect of the sea.

Atlantic Morocco might also be worth looking at to - temperatures don't climb as high as you'd think around Essaouira and Agadir, though I think get some sea fog in summer. Check into that though, I've not been!

Ooh, has anyone suggested northern Portugal? Or Galicia?

(I am not getting a holiday. Having to live vicariously.)
