UK family holiday by the coast

Can anyone offer any suggestions for a lovely family holiday close to the coast in the UK?

Anywhere except Devon/Cornwall as we have family there so visit regularly.

Happy to Airbnb or stay at a resort type place, just don't really know where to start looking.

Thanks!

Pembrokeshire in South Wales is lovely.

How old are your children? Small ones like sandy beaches, bigger ones might like more variety.

Kids are 1, 5 and 8.

Agree about pembrokeshire. Or north Norfolk.

I would definitely recommend folly farm park. We had a great week in Tenby last summer with our 5 year old.
we travelled from the midlands the night before our acclamation was booked for and stayed at a premier inn in Swansea, the attached pub had a soft play which was ideal after a long time in the car!

Northumberland is beautiful for its beaches and hidden coves not being biased at all as I live here . We have the most georgous beaches and coastal routes. Bamburgh Castle , Walkworth and Alnwick Castle , Tyne Valley and Newcastle on your doorstep as well as Berwick and the best of the Scottish borders with views to die for. However being from the North East my second recommendation would be North Yorkshire Loads to do and see. Scarborough , Filey, Robin Hoods Bay , Whitby and York City centre .

Caswell Bay in South Wales. Great for kids as lots of rockpools and little caves. There is a chalet park very close by that we've stayed at and it's fab.

Dorset - Isle of Purbeck, Studland Bay - lots to do in the area - great little micro climate - nice and dry.

Isle of wight

Northumberland was great. Not just Bamburgh beach, there were lots of nice beaches. Plus castles to play knights and princesses in.

We had a great old fashioned family holiday in Cromer in Norfolk. There were beaches, a pier for crabbing, a helter-skelter and fresh fried donuts. All reminiscent of my childhood.

North Wales is fabulous. There are small beaches with lots of shells to collect. Llandudno is a resort with sandy beaches and a pier. Plus a cable car if you're brave. Nearby Conwy has a castle and the world's smallest house.

Finally Pembrokeshire. We camped in St Davids by a lovely little cove. St David's itself is very pretty.

Where are you travelling from, I'd guess you wouldn't want to spend too long with 3 kids that age?

Isle of Wight. The ferry makes it feel like you are really going somewhere different. West coast is quieter, RYDE has huge beaches (but harder to keep track of your kids, Ventnor good - smaller beach but can be tougher seas.
St Helen's is good too but not much going on in the town.
Lots of caravan, camping, Airbnbs, hotels etc. a real bucket and spade place with a few distractions (Blackgang Chine, miniature village, Robin Hill Park all worth a visit). Some nice foodie places too.
