Planning road trip in Europe: how do they enforce different Covid restrictions?

I wondered if anyone has any experience of recent road travel across Europe?

We are planning our summer holiday and thinking of a lesiurely drive - inital plan is get the ferry across to Calais and then driving to Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and then possibly Switzerland and back to France spending a few days in each country - we have a booking in Germany but will spend a week getting there.

Looking at the advice from the Government it seems each country has different Covid requirements even for doubly vaccinated; filling in forms, test results etc - how is this enforced? Surely there arent border posts for people entering the country on the motorway?

And an aside - how is the Dover situation noiw? Is it hell to get the ferry? Is it any better on the tunnel?

Germany has dropped the forms and there are no routine controls at the border. They might spot check you but as long as you’re fully vaccinated I doubt they would ask anything else of you.

Don't have recent experience of the other countries you mention, but in the EU in general, it’s all very relaxed now compared to last year at least.

We travelled to the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Sweden recently and had no COVID related checks at any point.

I went to Amsterdam then Paris a couple if weeks ago. Masks were expected on planes and trains, but no one asked about my vaccine status at any point

Thank you for the replies - these have put my mind at rest. As I thought; there hasnt been a general restriction on freedom of movement across the continent!

And now to book the accommodation - now we're responsible parents we cant just spontaniously turn up in a town and book on the spot!
