I've never travelled abroad with an infant before, we are going to Majorca in a couple of weeks and my daughter has allergies to dairy and eggs. We're flying with Tui. Does anyone know if I can bring food with us in our hand luggage for her?

She is 14 months old, I just want to bring some bits for her to eat but really unsure

Yes you can take food. Its liquids that are limited in your hand luggage on flights.

Yes absolutely. But on some flights you may be asked not to open products containing nuts. Just be mindful of this as some with severe allergy is sharing your flight.

I'd add sesame seeds to the products to not open on a flight too

It’s fine to bring, avoid liquids or non-solid food, although they may let that through as she’s an infant. Be careful about what you take off the flight though, if you’re not sure if something will be allowed into the country then just bin it on the flight e.g. fruit

Buy some items nice you get through security. A sandwich from boots etc. Meal deal That way it doesn't get squashed in your hand luggage

Food wise I'd take her some sandwiches, fruit, snacks, crackers etc. buy water airside and you'll be fine.

Yes, you can bring food.

We flew with Tui recently and bought sandwiches in the airport. That's a pretty standard thing to do.

The only thing they don't allow is bringing alcoholic beverages to drink on board.

Thanks everyone this is good to know, I had no idea you could bring food on a plane! I've travelled a lot but I always bought food in the airport or on the plane. This is enormously helpful thanks

Depending on where you are going you may not be able to take leftover food off the plane but you can take food on board. Its only liquids/semi solid foods over 100ml each that would be prohibited unless you bought them after you went through security.

Yes you can but bear in mind that by the time you get on the plane, you will have been carting it around for many hours so bring ambient stuff only.
