Wondering if anyone has tips and information about a Maldives holiday?

Looking to go May/June 2023. For 10 days
I have looked and can see prices from around £1800-£3500 per person, is it best to go all inclusive? What's the difference between the different islands? I'm clueless and don't want to book the wrong thing.

Hi there. I could be wrong, but I think the Maldives of off season - weather wise it tends to be good until only Easter. Worth checking perhaps?

Thanks yes it is but we are limited to specific dates and we don't mind the rain.

You really need a company who are experts in the Maldives. They are hundreds of islands and they are all very very different. It depends whether you want a coral reef, water sports and so on.
Inclusive is rare but it is out there.

This is the company we used www.magicofmaldives.com/

We had lots of phone calls with them pinning down what we actually wanted, they are family run and very helpful

There are many different resorts to suit specific budgets. We went a few years ago and stayed at Bandos Maldives, which was lovely and a very short boat ride from the airport.

Some of the resorts are further away and more secluded, but will therefore have a longer transfer and sea plane transfers are very expensive. We were only there for a week so the shorter transfer suited us, and it was also a real bargain price wise.

Our resort included a house reef for snorkelling, which I understand not all resorts have and I would definitely choose one with a reef if you enjoy snorkelling. The condition of the reef wasn't great in terms of bleaching etc but I believe that's an issue accords the board, it was still lovely to swim out to explore the fish and sharks.

We were half board which was fine, buffet breakfast and dinner and we would just buy lunch at one of the resort restaurants. Alcohol is very expensive however, and added a fair bit to our bill despite us not being big drinkers at all. So you may find AI works better for you if you want to have a drink without worrying about the additional cost.

There's no way I'd go to the Maldives and spend all that money if it's not going to be nice weather!

I think some confusion on the weather. I’ve been a couple of times in august and yes higher risk of rain, although we had no issues, and it was boiling hot. You rain storms usually pass quickly, Although clearly risk is it’s rainy season so you get rained out for the duration you’d have to be very unlucky though.

and plenty of all inclusive islands. In thr maldives money is king. The more you pay rhe better you get, so it’s really all about how much your budget is.

go on trip advisor, the Maldives forum on there is very good.
