I’m looking to book something for next year (already) and it looks great. But there are lots of old reviews on here and trip advisor doesn’t have many recent reviews, presumably cos of covid.

Has anyone been or going this year and got any opinions?

Hi! We aren’t going back but we have been 3 times and loved it. The most recent was 2019. We have been with friends and know lots of people who have been and all rave about it. I hope you will really enjoy it.

We went in 2017 and 2018 and it was amazing. Fantastic swimming pool, grounds and staff. we also enjoyed driving round and exploring the island. Our children were 4 & 8 on the second visit (there weren’t many children older than 8)

This is great to know, thank you both. Hoping for more recommendations!

Hi there, I know this is an old thread but I’m thinking of booking mousses in mid June.
Did you go? Our little ones are 4 and 1.
we are looking for a holiday that can provide as much relaxation for the adults as well as fun for the kids! I’m torn between mousses, Ikos and a Kinderhotel in Austria.
The pros of mousses - the kids get their own room (Ikos we can only afford a junior suite). However, I’ve heard breakfast isn’t included and you have to self cater. And it’s not all inclusive. I really want to just get up and do nothing.
Any tips?

We went years ago. Loved it

There is a restaurant there, it’s small but nice food. Bonus, they will deliver your meal to your villa’s terrace which works well if you have children asleep inside.

I don’t remember if it does breakfast but tbh with little ones I always found it more stressful trying to get hungry kids dressed and ready for a hotel restaurant breakfast than just being in our own place and having breakfast in pjs. Also having your own kitchen means you can easily do snacks or small meals if needed.

As you say the kids get their own room, and there is a kitchen/living space too, this was invaluable for us with two poor sleepers/early risers. Being trapped in one room together nobody would have slept. But your kids may be sleepers!

Basically I would say the benefits of Mousses are (1) it’s small and authentic feeling - I personally don’t like huge hotels; and (2) you get the benefits/flexibility/extra space of self catering but with the facilities of a restaurant and great kids club.

It’s definitely not going to be as luxe as an Ikos or have as many facilities, or everything laid on in the same way. But we found it really relaxing at a similar stage in life when we were very busy & tired.

I really wouldn’t do mousses if that’s what you’re after! It’s lovely but not much to do for the kids unless you want to put them in holiday club, and you have to feed them.

I haven’t done ikos or Austria but really want to do a kinderhotel, I vote that. No idea if it’s all inclusive though?

Weve booked an AI in Corfu this year as I just NEED a holiday where I don’t have to think about what people are going to eat!! Can’t wait!

Also when we went to mousses (2022) we went to the town and it felt quite unwelcoming - anti tourist graffiti, people just kind of staring at us as we went down the street etc (I know that sounds ridiculous). You must hire a car too as we didn’t and the taxis provided were crazy - hotel ordered one for us with too few seats and expected us to put toddler on our lap, stuff like that - just hire a car and then you can do day trips etc. So really a totally different thing to a fly&flop AI.

Gosh that doesn’t sound good @MassiveSalad22 about the unwelcoming locals. I’ve never ever had that experience in Greece, they have always been so friendly. I wonder if there’s been some bad tourist behaviour or bad experiences there.

Thanks all!
We ended up booking Ikos Aria, on an out of term deal. I think Mousses sounds so lovely, but like you @MassiveSalad22 i need to just wake up, and go to breakfast and be served. And not think about cooking or cleaning - that’s a holiday from my ‘job’ of being a mum after all!
