Passport in maiden name

Does anyone know if you can travel with a passport in your maiden name (obviously as long as it’s in date), we have booked a holiday abroad for 2 months time and I’ve just realised I hadn’t yet gotten around to changing the name but it still has 3 years left

That’s a fair point. And ‘birth name’ also may not apply to those who were adopted, changed name to flee domestic abuse, etc.

I just find ‘maiden’ so sexist and outdated.

’former name’ is pretty straightforward.
