How do people prove they've recovered from Covid when travelling?

Hi,

We are flying to Spain at the end of May and I'm just trying to make sense of the restrictions that are still in place.

I've had both doses of the Covid vaccine but this was quite a while ago (second dose was in June 2021).

I can see that Spain requires a booster if the vaccination was completed more than 270 days ago.

I would get a booster but I actually tested positive for Covid last week and I'm still recovering. How can I prove this?

I don't feel like getting the booster until much later as it feels a bit unecessary getting it straight after recovering from Covid :(

Can people share their experiences of proving Covid recovery at airports etc?

Thanks

My covid recovery pass appeared in my nhs app about 2 weeks after registering a positive PCR. At that point you could only get one if you'd had it confirmed by PCR but not sure if this is still the same.

I had my 4th vaccine 4 weeks after testing positive and all was fine.

If you go down the booster route you need to have 2 clear weeks after having it before it is valid.

Thanks @Abraxan. I've never had a PCR test though - it was just the home lateral flow test.
I wonder if I can register that result as there is a barcode on the test :/

I got my cert on the NHS website.

You have to wait for a number of weeks after infection before you get the vaccine, so no point in going down that route.

I don't know if a LFT is enough unless it triggers the NHS to produce the certificate. It's worth a go I suppose. Although anyone could then do that though, say they've tested positive on a LFT at some point to enable them to 'recover' to allow travel.

Arghhh, this is so confusing!

So I've reported my positive result on the NHS app / website.

But this result is from a lateral flow test.

I'm trying to find if I can have a PCR test done anywhere on the NHS but the rules have changed and they don't do them anymore?
This is so confusing.

Has anyone got a recovery certificate through the NHS app after reporting a positive result from a lateral flow test?

You have to have a PCR to get the recovery certificate. It isn't triggered by the LFT. We all had Covid before a recent trip and I'd hoped we would avoid having to test the kids but sadly even registered LFTs don't count, although they do stop the system generating your Covid pass for 10days

Thanks @LostMySocks . So I now need to pay for a PCR test privately? And what if it's negative? I've had Covid for over a week so might be negative now.

I don't think private PCRs link to the NHS website. Maybe you could call 119 and ask them?

Free testing has finished. I don't mind paying for a PCR test but they are honestly too expensive. And what if the result is negative? How do I prove that I've had covid, if I only used a lateral flow test at the time?

Grrr I'm so angry
