Gardaland - questions

So, exciting, we’ve finally booked a holiday. Has anyone been to Gardaland? Bit worried as it’s August and will be rammed. We’ve always got disabled passes for theme parks (remembers the horrors of Disneyland Paris with my child and how brilliant the free pass was) - does Gardaland have anything like that? I don’t remember Italy being particularly accessible (used to live there pre-kids).

I'm not sure about disability access at all, sorry, but yes, mine loved Gardaland and the water park. DS still claims the 2.50 euro pasta he had (in a styrofoam dish) is the best thing he's ever eaten.

It will be VERY busy and very hot in August, but it's such a lovely part of the world.

Ah brilliant thank you - mine will love any form of cheap takeout 😂 we will have two adults and are staying nearby so fingers crossed

It’s brilliant, depending on ages if kids take swimming costumes for them too as water parks and fountains to cool off. It’s also open late in the evening (and used to be cheaper after four) which meant actually teenagers (who make it feel busy) didn’t arrive until late afternoon.

Oh that sounds great thank you. We are really close so will try it.

We spent the morning at the hotel pool and then headed to Gardaland at lunchtime. The crowds thinned out in the evening and we stayed until the bitter end (10pm). Was cooler and less crowded then, and we got to go on everything we wanted. Kids loved it, and the water park.

Thank you that’s really helpful. Didn’t realise it was open so late.

We live close enough to Gardaland to make a day trip of it.

The last time we booked online and got a priority pass to skip the queues. I think it was usable 5 times but it was worth the extra cost because who wants to stay in line for two hours under the August sun?
I expect a disability pass will give you similar priority.

If you’re driving to Gardaland I’d advise going as early in the morning as possible. The motorway exit starts backing up after about 11 and there’s always some idiot trying to sneak in at the head of the queue, Italian style.
You can get free returns and entry to other attractions like Sea Life. We used ours in Jesolo Sea Life which was small but an interesting afternoon.

It’s quite easy going for wheelchair users as the paths are slopes, not steps. But some are pretty steep.

Have you seen this, OP?

‘O - thank you, I hadn’t found it. I’d found the main site but only the ticket prices and ride types. Thank you! We should be ok traffic wise as we can walk (apparently!).

Hi not sure when you are going I august but I came across your post when trying to research the same question, went tonight with my son who has autism, and his typically developing sister, same set up as Disneyland , go to welcome desk separate to ticket booth and , provide proof of disability , wrist band and pass provide access via fast track , all round good experience, however whilst is doesn’t or didn’t effect my son such is his disability, the park give you a list of rides that are suitable to people with your disability so people who have a nureolgical difference were not allowed on the top 4 fasted rides , as I said didn’t effect us but thought it was strange, got evening tickets from 6 to 11 very good @22 euro my son was free and lots of time to do all rides

Hi - thank you that is useful. I've been reading trip advisor reviews which are all really negative about sharing an ASD diagnosis - people complaining about not being allowed to ride together or not being allowed on rides. I was thinking we wouldn't mention it but then the queuing would be an issue.
Going end August - I couldn't understand all the ticket options so I just bought four day ones online.
