We're going on a week's package holiday to Fuerteventura in March. It'll be our first holiday with DD who will be 5 months old by then. Any useful tips of things to pack / not pack, do / not do, etc etc? THANKS!

Keep some essentials in your hand luggage, when we flew to France with dd (1.3) BA left our luggage behind, luckily I had plenty of nappies and snacks in the hand luggage, but not her fave doll, which fortunately turned up later! Never been abroad with her before or since though!
Feeding on the aeroplane is supposed to help their ears, plenty of easily washable changes of clothes, noot sure what else really! Have fun.

isn't it windy there? maybe something to cover her ears if it's strong and goes on for a while??

Thanks guys - one other thing... a cot is being provided - in other people's experience have cots provided been OK or is it better to take a travel cot? We booked the holidya with Thomas Cook if that makes any difference.

Have a look at your resort / accommodation on tripadvisor.com, you may find info on standard of cots there. Take some masking tape with you, great for anti-slip in the bath if you criss-cross it on the bottom of the bath! Fuerteventura VERY windy - windsurfers' paradise!

We travelled to Turkey with ds1 when he was 5 months old and he was fine.
Have a dummy or bottle handy for take off and landing as that will help her ease the pressure in her ears.
Definatley have a change of clothes for her in your hand luggae as well as extra nappies, milk in case of delays.
If you are formula feeding take plenty with you as you might not be able to get the brand you need when you are there, and if you do take it with you, take off the foil covering from the lid then tape the lid down. We didnt do this the first time we went and the milk exploded in our case.
We had requested a cot in the room and it was just a travel cot which was fine but i would take a sheet and a blanket with you as these weren't provided for us.

You can buy nappies at your destination.

Take some form of shade for the pushchair for when you're out and about -a good tip is to use a light white cotton sheet if you can't fit a sun parasol in your luggage.
