Would you do these flight times with a 9 month old

Looking at an amazing resort. The only issues the flight times there are terrible. The flights only go out of Gatwick (which is a good 75 min drive with no traffic).

Flight out is at 730 am

Flight back lands at 1130pm

Would you do it?

How long is the flight? Going out early in the morning is ok, it's hanging around all day at the end of the holiday for an evening flight that I wouldn't like.

Yep I would if the baby will sleep in the car and pram it would be absolutely fine

TokyoSushi · 01/04/2022 14:50

If it's the only way that you can go on the holiday then I'd just get on with it!

Bells3032 · 01/04/2022 14:51

About 3 and a half hours

Could you book a "Park and fly" rate at an airport Hotel? It would usually include one night stay and then a week/fortnights parking. You could then add a second night on for your return date.

Assuming you would be paying airport parking anyways it may not work out much more.

Yes because the flight is just one day and you'll have the memories of an amazing holiday for ever. I don't even think about that when I'm booking a holiday, babies can sleep in a pushchair in the day on your knee etc and just because it's a better flight time doesn't mean your baby will sleep through it anyway. I've had some good and bad flights with a baby and you can't predict how it's gonna go just because of the time.

9mo... yes. Portable at that age. (Unless they only sleep in a darkened room in their own cot with a white noise app etc...)

Its toddlers and young children that make that sort of flight tricky.

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 01/04/2022 14:58

I would, but only if we had a couple of days at home on the other end to settle back into a routine before going back to work. (In other words, late night flight on a Sunday and then straight to nursery & work on a Monday would be a hard pass from me!)

Bells3032 · 01/04/2022 15:01

Thanks I'll look into park and fly or even just hotels either end.

I won't be back at work yet and she won't be at nursery yet
