If you were travelling from Yorkshire to Gatwick..

Would you drive and pay to park (circa £85 for parking plus fuel ~£90) or get the train into Kings Cross then from St Pancras to Gatwick (circa £100 for two people return)?

Heading to Mauritius at the end of June and trying to decide what the best option to get there would be! On a good day without traffic or stops it would take around 4.5 hours to get to Gatwick by car and about 3.5 by train (total travelling time, not including the walk between stations or waiting for the train out of St Pancras).

Should also note I will be 26-27 weeks pregnant when we go.

Thanks in advance!

Most people just have wheely suitcases now don’t they? No need for left luggage or much effort involved in carrying them. It’s five minutes from one station to the other in London and you can find a ton of nice places for lunch easily.

Check Gatwick Express is running. Can be a bit ? I would have got an earlier train from Yorkshire personally. Less stress if anything goes wrong.

I’d either do train as M25 is always awful or drive down the day before and stay overnight at a hotel at the airport then you get parking included and no stress on the day of travel.

You don’t need the Gatwick Express. Thameslink from St Pancras. You never need the Gatwick Express anyway - regular trains from Victoria will get you there very slightly slower but at a lower cost.
