Just that really - if you had to choose between either of these which would you choose and why? Probably in Sept in case that makes a difference

PCH but I’m biased because I live on it. But I do think it is a beautiful coast to drive/visit. I much prefer coast to inland anyway. I absolutely love living here and we have driven the coast a few times, at different speeds, taking from 3 days to 10 days based on the reason for going (duty family visit, vacation, etc). Loved every minute of it each time.

Thanks I actually think we may have decided on PCH so if you have any tips for things not miss I’d really appreciate it. We love finding hidden gems off the usual tourist beat wherever we go!

I recommend Cambria Landing Inn and Suites (view from our room on a blustery February day!). Lovely little motel right on the ocean front with a jacuzzi bath. We drove into Cambria itself for food and found a couple of great restaurants there. We also did all the usual suspects - Monterey (v expensive), San Diego (loved it) all the way up to San Francisco. It was a great trip.

Also the Pacific Edge hotel on Laguna Beach. It wasn’t plush, but the location was amazing - literally on the beach. (View from balcony)

Love California! We live in the Pacific Northwest... the only thing that is worth knowing if you're travelling in September is the potential smoke from wildfires.. though it might not be as bad along the coast... but SF can suffer from it .. we've had it v bad where we live for the last couple of years. We are travelling to SF in June because I wanted to be there a little earlier in the summer. November in California is absolutely lovely... Nice temp and no smoke.

Im rom the Uk. I'd go for one if your choices in Canada. PCH is nice but nothing particularly special in all honesty. We've stayed in various parts and done PCH by default as a means of getting from a to b and while it's nice enough, it won't blow your socks off by any means.

Not PCH at that time, very likely to be engulfed in smoke. I'd go for option 4 - SF to Vancouver. The Oregon coast highway is very nice (a bit ragged) and WA and South BC lovely.

Rocky mountains every time. Coast in the us is nice, but no nicer than the UK imo, but we don't have proper mountains like the rockies. They are simply stunning and I've travelled them a few times and they still take my breath away!

I live in BC, go for the PCH. Oregon is beautiful.

Definitely not your 3rd option, I mean it’s ok but it doesn’t compare to either of your first two options.
