Holidays
Disney Paris

We're considering taking our two DC to Disneyland Paris this autumn for their birthdays. Will probably take them term time (long weekend). I'm after some tips on the most stress free and cost effective way to book - best companies to use, what are the best accommodation, packages etc. And any other advice really! They will be 8 and 2 when we go.
Thanks.

We've been twice with Magic Breaks. Always been great. We've stayed in Davy Crockett lodges which were perfect for us and we drove via Channel Tunnel.
I think you need to narrow it down a bit, budget & hotel type etc.

I've used Magic Breaks too and no issues. I would advise staying onsite, this gives you access to the parks early and most of the hotels are walking distance to the park. I've only stayed at Sequoia Lodge, no complaints. Cheyenne also looks nice too.
You can stay off site at partner hotels, these offer a free shuttle to the park, are cheaper but don't allow early access into the park. Magic Breaks allows you to book on or off site hotels.
There's a really helpful facebook group called Disneyland Paris for Brits, they can answer all the questions you didn't even know you had.

I'll take a look at the group and that site. Thanks both!

I'm going in May and it's been booked since 2019 (thanks Covid) so I feel like I've researched everything! Any questions just ask.

Can I ask a few questions here - does anyone know if you need to get Euros out and use as cash there or do all places in Disneyland Paris take card?
Also ant food eating places that are good for quick lunch bites?
PenguinLove1 · 02/04/2022 23:20
Fly easy jet to charles de gaulle and book seats on the magic bus that runs between the airport and the disney hotels.
Definitely stay on site, feels more magical. Cheyenne and Newport Bay both lovely and walkable to both parks easily.
I didnt bother with the dining plans as i found it restrictive the first time we went.
We love the wild west show on the first night we arrive, feels like a great way to start the holiday. The buffet restaurant up stairs in the village, cant remember the name, but its great.
And cafe Mickey, great to meet the characters- book an early slot and you get loads of time with them- one character sat next to my son as he ate most of his meal!
Arrive early when going to the studios park, before it opens, queue up and run to Crush's Coaster to avoid the queue - its the best ride but always really busy.

Everywhere takes card and there are cash machines in the village.
Burgers etc in the park are expensive. I like the earl of sandwich in the village for quick relatively cheap lunches , theres a mcdonalds too. The pub does pizza/chicken nuggets etc at night and its not expensive

penguin the Wild West show and Cafe Mickey are both permanently closed now :(
OP, I booked direct with DLP but have heard Magic Breaks are great. I stayed at DLH which is closed for refurbishment but it was right at the entrance and so great after a long day. The other on-site hotels are all walkable though.
We wee we by via Eurostar as it was so easy and right to the door but it’s not the cheapest way.
I took the Halifax Clarity Credit Card as it was fee free for abroad, and a Revolut card. You can add cash to it and change to euros although I didn’t bother as exchange rate was very good at the time so it just converted each purchase .

We're planning an autumn trip. Going tk stay at a hotel neaebynught before and night after to get the most frim the disney days.
Booking direct with disney for hotel/tickets and found cheapest time we could go.
Going to go by ferry so as to break up the journey but it was a toss up ferry or tunnel.
Also going to go to paris for a day!
PenguinLove1 · 03/04/2022 00:33
Aww no thats a shame I love the wild west show and cafe mickey! I havent been back since covid hit so i obviously need to prepare myself for some changes, it my favourite place in the world!
skyeisthelimit · 03/04/2022 13:18
We went in 2019 for a “once in a lifetime” trip. Did 5 nights in the DLH, had Princess lunch and character breakfast.
We loved it so much I’ve been saving ever since to go back when DLH has been refurbed 😂

Every where does take card but I've read of a few times when the card system has gone down and you have needed cash, so I plan to take a small amount.
The restaurants are expensive, but there is some non-Disney ones in the village such as McDonald's and Five Guys, probably more expensive than at home but cheaper than the ones inside Disney. There's also a shopping area nearby on the train that has some places to eat.
MarineBlue33 · 03/04/2022 23:06
Good to know @usernotfound0000
Is there somewhere to grab food if you are catching the Eurostar back in the evening? So will have to leave Disney around 6pm?
