HELP! What happens at airport with infant allowances?

Hello everyone,
We are due our first baby end of next month and have a family wedding abroad in September so she will be 4 months old. We are flying with jet2 and I’m super confused! So my plan so far is to take her round the airport in a sling. Then I’ll get a second hand cheap pram to put through as her 10kg allowance. The chassis will fold but the carrycot will have to sit on top. Is that allowed or will we need to bag it up? Do you think I’m taking the right route here? I’m just thinking she can sleep overnight in the carrycot if she doesn’t like the hotel cot and the carry cot will weigh much less than the car seat (trying to keep to 10kg)

I hope I make sense I do babble!

Thank you in advance xx

Yes I wouldn’t bother with parent facing for travel. The who parent facing part basically makes it large to fold and you want the opposite.

We also parent faced until about 18 months at home in large off road comfy buggy, now still use facing outwards.
But for travel, we use the babyzen yo-yo. It fits in overhead locker so we take on as hand luggage so never have to wait for pram at luggage carasol. Fits in footwell in car, keeping boot free for luggage. We will use next month again for now almost 2 year old flying and on tube and trains at other end.

There’s many things travelling you compromise on for convenience. Apart from safety like appropriate car seat. Ds sleeps in cot at home, has travel cot too, but next trip I will be alone and am not an octopus so he will have to co sleep with me. His reusable nappies will stay and il use disposable for the week. He will probably eat way too many snacks, and not have 5 a day for a week. Cold milk in cup. Naps crazy, and no proper bedtime. You will drive yourself crazy trying to keep everything the same and perfect when your not at home.

Strollers aren't parent facing, jst wotld facing. You just need one that lays flat, don't overcomplicate it. I took my dd at 6 months on holiday abroad for first time, its so easy at that age

Yes, just an umbrella stroller that lies flat. Doesn’t need to be parent facing. They usually aren’t. This is the only type of pram we ever used, even at home.
