My brain is fried trying to figure it out any hotel that looks nice in the picture the trip advisor review are fierce.
We would like shortish transfer from airport. May half term, me and DH and two DDs 11 & 14. If possible two rooms or akin as DH snores like a demon.
We were looking at Spain Catalonia area la Pineda but some reviews have made me worried the pools will be cold. This is our first holiday in years (like lots of people!!)
I really want to get this right for the family and the mumsnet hive mind has always been great.

We go to a villa in los mojones area of puerto del carmen in lanzarote. It’s a walk to the harbour down a hill but we’ve never had an issue even when the kids were in buggies. I only ever go to villas with a heated pool (even in summer) so it suits us. We eat out all the time (around the harbour) but there is a Lidl nearby for breakfast.

You can make a villa holiday really relaxing
Big shop, fill fridge/ freezer with drinks, ice creams, cold meats, cheese. Lots of snacks, pastries and bread from bakery.
Everyone helps themselves when they get up for breakfast. Bung cold meats etc on table at lunch. Eat out for dinner.
Sometimes go out for breakfast/brunch.
If fancy a night in go out and collect or get delivered a takeaway.
Take a few games/ cards. These were the best hols when mine were that age (now 18 & 24 and still coming with us!)
Lanzarote is fab, really chilled, short transfers to resorts.

Tenerife and Gran Canaria many heated pools.

I've booked a spacious villa in lanzarote with a lovely garden, heated pool and a hot tub. 5 mins from shops and restaurants. A fraction of hotel prices as we need 3 bedrooms. Driving there is really easy. Playa Blanca as supposed to be best resort for kids.

Have you thought about Sharm el Sheikh, we are here now, definitely a fly and flop sort of holiday! It's only 20mins from the airport, loads of hotels to choose from all with fab reviews. I'm sure you could find one you fancy. Weather is perfect at the moment!
