Visiting London over the Easter weekend.

Going to do a couple of museums, probably Hyde park too.
Can’t get tickets for Warner bros, show tickets are absolute fortunes.

Any recommendations? 3 adults, one 9 year old.
Thanks.

We're going to London at Easter with an 8 year old. Previous big hits have been the Science Museum (pay for the wonder lab it's worth it) and the cafe in the V&A that has a bit kids can splash around in.

We did the Horrible Histories boat tour which was okay but not amazing tbh. Hamleys we've done a few times so not again but is worth a look if yours haven't been before.

We stayed near Coram Fields park and that was a really good park. I wouldn't bother unless you're near for another reason.

I'm thinking of going to the Imperial War Museum this Easter.

Museum of London is fascinating , & free.
Tours of Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Globe Theatre
If it happens whilst you're there, watch the bridge being raised.
There are various guided sight-seeing walks that are good.
The London Eye.

I could go on....

BTW, Hyde Park is, erm, just a park; could be anywhere in the world really.

Definitely eat at Inamo. The interactive tables with built-in chef cams are very cool and a big hit with my dc.
Try ice cream from Chin Chin, whatever the weather!
The Uber Boats are good fun, great value and a novel way to see the city.
HMS Belfast and the London Transport Museum are probably the best paid-for museums for museums for a 9yo. You really feel like you get your money’s worth and they are likely to be less busy than the free museums.

Thanks very much for those great suggestions.

Rethinking The Lion King, if I do some extra shifts I can pay for the 4 of us. It’s over £200 which is a months food shopping in our house!

Kew Gardens also looks like a great day out, never been. Again it’s a lot of money. Is it worth the money do you think?

Go up the river to Greenwich on the clipper service (don't get a riverboat cruise!) - you just tap in and out - you see so much on the river - HMS Belfast, the tower, the city, the shard, Canary Wharf - you get great photos of the landmarks and it's thrilling when the boat speeds up

When you get there theres the royal naval college to walk round, free museum, national maritime museum (free, loads of kids stuff), observatory up the hill with planetarium (not free but very good)

Walk to the O2 dome from there (or get a bus - again tap in and out £1.50) - theres shopping, eating, climbing the dome

I've just checked - they've got Mary Poppins for £25 on the Today Tix app at 2.30pm on Thursday 7th April (loads of seats up in the grand circle for that price)

Thanks @Fivemoreminutes1 I've booked Inamo as it looks fab. My kid will probably be sad there are no chicken nuggets but with a little luck he'll eat something.

Benihana is also a fun place to eat. The Japanese chef works at the grill in front of you and does lots of tricked and jokes.

The hop on/off bus is a good way to see all the sights easily - can usually find discount codes online

Kew Gardens not so sure for a 9 year old, or in April. National Gallery permanent collection is free, worth a visit.

You don’t need to go to Kew. It’s a long way out. Kensington Gardens is better and Kensington Palace might be open.

Best things to do are Millennium Wheel, then cross Westminster Bridge for a view of Houses of Parliament/Big Ben (got scaffolding in it?) and then visit Westminster Abbey. Go to St Paul’s and then go over the Millennium Bridge to the Globe Theatre. Visit South Bank - lots of restaurants there. Visit National Gallery (highlights), Science Museum and Natural History Museum. Tower of London is a must. Go back on the Thames to Westminster.

We like tea in any Firmdale Hotel. Look them up. A total treat! Covent Garden is always worth a visit. You might get on a tour of the Riyal Opera House. Liberty is beautiful and even if you don’t buy anything, have a browse. Lots of theatres are doing ticket offers. Lots of places do decent food especially around Covent Garden.
