Does anyone have any clarity about unvaccinated travel to Balearics? Is it only UK citizens who can't travel? One of our adult party members isn't vaccinated (for personal reasons) but the information is hard to decipher. I am also wondering if rules will change for the summer.

Adults cant enter Spain unvaccinated if they don't have an essential reason to go. There are different rules for Children and kids aged 12-17 can take a test for entry

The rules can change a number of times between now and the summer, yes. I don’t bother checking the rules until 1-2 weeks before the trip anymore, things are constantly changing.

At the moment, unvaccinated British adult tourists can’t enter Spain. Under 12s are exempt, 12-18 year olds can provide a negative test instead.

Anyone with an EU passport can obviously travel under the EU Digital COVID Certificate - for which a negative test or a recovery certificate would suffice.

The Foreign Office page is here and it states "Entry requirements may vary if your reason for travel to Spain falls into one of the categories listed as ‘essential’ - section ‘a’ to ‘i’ - on the Spanish Ministry of Health Travel and COVID-19 page". That page is here - expand the section at the top, Entry requirements.

You would need to demonstrate that the person is highly qualified and the work cannot be done remotely.

Best to get it. I've looked at every way around it but getting the second dose on Tuesday then flying out in March for a couple of months.

We changed our flights and flew out early on November 30th for a month because Spain were refusing entry to the unvaccinated past that date. Absolute nonsense.

I don't understand why an unvaccinated person would book overseas travel knowing that the rules keep changing all the time. Surely they have to accept the risk that they may not be able to travel, regardless of the reasons why they haven't been vaccinated?

Also, wouldn't being unvaccinated invalidate their travel insurance?

Do those who know about this know whether Spain consider double vax sufficient or if you need to have had the booster?

Second dose is valid for 270 days. After that, you need the booster.
