Netherlands- vaccination passport

We’re off to the Netherlands in April and I know a lot can change between now and then but I’m beyond excited to be leaving the uk after almost three years so doing some organising!

I can’t find an answer to whether the NHS/non eu vaccination certificate will be valid. I’m thinking not- I can’t find the Netherlands on the list of countries who will. What does this mean? Will we still get into Efteling?! Or will we have to book tests daily?

Yes you can use the NHS covid pass. At the moment you would also need to isolate but can end isolation early with a day 5 covid test (if you've had the booster you wouldn't need to isolate)

Thank you. Feel a bit silly that it was that easy to find the info 🙄- I’d been looking at all the Netherlands gov information.

Do look at the Netherlands govt info as well though- the UK gov website for example about Italy is currently wrong and has been for the past 3 weeks. I keep telling people on threads but they say "but the UK website says this" Confused They've not updated it with the latest changes iyswim.

I would double check CURRENT requirements but when I went in November; the NHS pass was valid to enter the country, but NOT for entry to restaurants/leisure activities. I had to book (free) tests every day. It was stupid because the actual QR code is the same - it’s the same globally- and sometimes it would ‘scan’ correctly at a restaurant or something - but big official places wanted it in the Dutch app, nothing else would do. The Efteling did this.

There are new rules going in on the 25th of Feb but I genuinely can’t figure it out. I would call the Efteling for advice, they have English speakers and are super helpful. I have called them many times before.

Ok. I am in the Netherlands now and have been travelling here all the time through the pandemic.

Yes the NHS vaccination QR code works everywhere.

If you are boosted you no longer need to quarantine. You need to complete a quarantine declaration.

To enter you CURRENTLY need a lateral flow (24 hours) or a PCR (48 hours)

You need to fill out a health certificate

It’s easy. Go to the Dutch website not the British one.

I don’t know what will change on 25 Feb but if anything will get easier.

Ok just checked for you on Dutch website and from 25 Feb there is no longer a need to quarantine either.

But honestly a lot can change from now to April anyway so I would check again nearer the time. But it won’t get more difficult. It will get easier.

@Geamhradh which bit on the Uk site is wrong? We have a trip to Italy planned and I've signed up for updates from the FO site so I'm worried I've missed some important detail. It's all so complicated with the whole vaccination expiry part - I thought I'd got it all clear in my head that we were ok!

The bit about the booster not expiring. It's worded very badly- (in fairness they may have changed it on the UK site since the rule was changed about 2 wks ago) For Italians the booster (and consequently green pass/super GP) don't expire, for foreign tourists the last dose needs to have been less than 6 months previously or you have to test every 48/72 hours.

@Geamhradh that's the part I was worried about. I have been looking at the guidelines for a few weeks now and the UK site had suddenly updated to say the booster will not be considered to have expired.

There also seems to be confusion over how many days since vaccination is acceptable. It seems to say 189 days for the green pass but 270 for the entry requirements. So confused!

I and DH had the booster on 10th December so it will have expired by the time we travel in July. The kids are ok as they will get their boosters this spring.

Hopefully Italy will review on the 31st March otherwise we will have to cancel.

Yes, it’s the test site in the Efteling car park that I’m desperate to avoid! Apparently it takes two hours for a result - such a pain to do every day!

But this is reassuring! I’ve been going around in circles clicking on links and getting a huge range of different answers. Maybe it’s silly to even be looking this far in advance since it’ll all change soon anyway.
