Hi, We are planning to go by Eurostar to Paris at the end of january. Never been on a train with LO before. she is 1 year old and at present not cruising never mind toddling. Should we time it that her nap is on the train or will it be too distracting for her?

We are staying in a flat near the Bastille. Any advice on things to do? I have read all the recommendations of various parks which do sound lovely but what about when it is raining & once dark? Baby friendly restaurants with high chairs? Some threads have said public transport with buggy is tricky and better to take a sling or back pack.

Please help as need to persuade her dad it is worth us going. We cannot fly at the moment as LO has ear problem that we dont want to aggrevate but I really need to get away and we cant postpone the time off we have booked. Any advice much appreciated. cheers.

Take a Maclaren buggy (Volo) as you will need to fold it quickly to get on and off public transport. Bus is much, much better than metro with a baby.

Baby friendly restaurants near Bastille - Amici Miei (Italian - pizza, pasta) in rue Saint-Sabin is great but get there for opening at 7.30pm as it doesn't take reservations and fills up very quickly.

Noura Traiteur (Lebanese) at the corner of avenue Marceau and Pierre 1er de Serbie is great for babies and is open all day.

With a baby in a buggy you are allowed to jump the queue for taxis and museums . Museums like the Louvre are great in winter with a baby.

Its no point going by plane anyway as the journey and waiting times are sooo long, (I would never go by plane to Eurodisney). Buy (if you don't have one already) a snow suit as it is very very cold this ime of the year there.

Also all the Costes restaurants - Café Marly, Café Ruc, Georges (on top of Centre Pompidou) are good for babies.
