Travel to France what happens if your flight is delayed LFT timing?

Argh I've been a bit of an idiot. I was so keen to confirm that I was negative that I did my lft for France at 12.49 as the recorded time.

We're flying to France on Saturday at 11.20 am, but if flight was delayed more than an hour or so then it means my test was taken outside the 48 hrs allowed.

I can't find any advice on what would happen in this scenario. Luckily DH and DS haven't done their tests yet. I could go out and buy another test tomorrow at £15 to be on the safe side, but would rather not unless I have to.

Anyone have any experience please or wording anywhere ?
Thanks

I've reprinted it @MehMahMoo as would hate to get turned away because of something so silly.

Now waiting impatiently for teen DS to come down so he can do his LFT and I will have the paperwork completed.

Jeezo it's such a palaver.

@rookiemere, we are hoping to make it to France, it’s a bit up in the air atm. Looking at the sworn statement, it seems that the U.K. is orange, but on that statement you have to agree to take a test/self isolate, etc. Surely that can’t be right? Whereas the green sworn statement doesn’t have so many requirements. Perhaps I’ll print and sign both just to be sure.

The U.K. gov site suggests we might need to complete an EU digital PLF to enter France. Is this something else we should be completing?

rookiemere · 10/02/2022 21:33

@SheriffCallie I believe we're agreeing to another random Lateral Flow test on arrival in France if selected on the French form.

As far as I am aware the digital PLF is only for the non vaccinated - but I don't feel 100% confident on that so happy for someone else to chip in

Yay three negative lateral flow certificates, and a spare in case the flight is delayed.

Hurrah, hope you have a fab time.
I’ve just completed the eu PLF, didn’t take long and it’s stored on my phone just in case we are asked.

Just have to hope none of us are close contacts on our last day of work/school and I might be able to relax then :).

MehMahMoo · 10/02/2022 21:47

PLF not required I think if you are vaccinated at any rate. All the rest of Europe pretty much is green as far as France is concerned and no need for LFT on entering from those, it’s because UK is orange we gave to test to go. So we don’t need them on return from our destination country. If you go to Eurostar website they do have it quite well laid out with what you need (even if you’re flying the rules will be the same). We have less than an hour in Paris on the way there but all this testing and paperwork palaver… I just hope we have all we need!

notimagain · 11/02/2022 08:37

“ That document feels like something from a hundred years ago! And 15 year old has to complete one too.”

[thread drift] I know what you mean…in the French system these attestations, where you “swear” seemingly on your life something is true crop up quite frequently..We’ve signed them for countless reasons ranging from things like student accommodation/funding right through more recently to reasons for leaving the house in the early Covid lockdowns.

TBF a collection of correctly completed forms and attestations, most especially if presented in a suitable folder, can work wonders with some officials over here and very much smooth your path through the bureaucracy [/thread drift].

Be nice when the requirements ends - Good luck with the paperwork…

rookiemere · 11/02/2022 08:44

@notimagain today's job is sorting out the holiday folders - I now have a separate one for covid related gubbins. It is getting to the stage where I feel I need some coloured page stickers for reference purposes, but suspect that's the Project Manager in me coming out.

I am pretty organised ( too organised when it comes to doing LFTs) and I do wonder how the less organised manage holiday travel these days, there's so many potential pitfalls.

The "agreeing to take a test" part is slightly misleading.

By ticking it, you are not saying that you will do a test, but you are consenting to be randomly tested if asked to by the border officials.

MehMahMoo · 12/02/2022 09:02

@Parpophone that is good news, though FCO and Eurostar have not updated so we may end up still doing them tomorrow for Monday travel. I'll keep an eye out. Thank you!

rookiemere · 12/02/2022 10:34

Yes quite ironic for us departing today. However it was good I had the test results as the EasyJet lady didn't know about the change in requirements and was most insistent it was still needed.

@rookiemere

Hope you had a good journey. Unfortunately it always takes a while for any changes to trickle down to the "front line".

Enjoy your trip.

The gouvr.fr page has been updated to reflect the changes:

All good news... my doubts lie round our 15yo who is half vaccinated but had covid in December - so she is treated as vaccinated because the adults with her are fully vaccinated. So are we ok without lateral flow for her? We have them so I'm inclined to use them anyway.

MehMahMoo · 12/02/2022 15:48

Yes, FCO have updated!

MehMahMoo · 14/02/2022 22:20

We made it! Just thought I'd update how it went for us. No tests needed or asked for. Barely glanced at our paper copies of covid passes. Did not ask for our sworn statements! Was very straightforward and quick, dare I say cursory.

Good luck to everyone else!

rookiemere · 15/02/2022 07:18

Brilliant @MehMahMoo . We're here and despite a bit of a white out yesterday it's been great. Noticeably less British speakers than normal - Serre Chevalier so not a huge resort for Brits . We've been asked for our Tous anti covid pass a couple of times at a restaurant and then at the spa baths - mine wouldn't scan for some reason but thankfully my Scottish app QR code would, so hopefully that's ok to get me through.
You'd honestly not know Covid was a thing apart from masks inside.
