Best for beach/pool and culture?

Planning a break in May and can't figure out where we want to go. DH wants city break but I just want to relax.

I'd like to avoid a major city, somewhere with culture/sightseeing is fine and preferably short haul.

We've done most of the obvious ones: Barcelona, Lisbon, Marrakech, Naples, Athens. Any recommendations please?

We're off to Malaga tomorrow, sounds like it could fit the bill. Also enjoyed Alicante.
Seville is my favourite short break.

Cyprus. Lovely in May. Lots of Roman archaeology, stunning scenery, nice beaches, good food, drive on the left, mostly speak English.

Malta: beautiful Valletta and Mdina, prehistoric sites, temples and many different beaches - gorgeous in spring
