didnt realise tickets were so expensive...First Choice quoting £1000 for 3 adults 2 children - 5 days WDW...what is the best way to buy?..is cheaper in diferrent seasons, does price vary by retailer?..if purchased in US or in advance from UK..any special deals etc.

Also wonder if it is worth doing Universal not sure my 10, 8, 7, 2 year old would get anything from a Simpson experience

Are packages better value that putting it all together yourself...flights are looking like £400 a head (mid Dec07)...can you get apackage that would do the flights, on site disney for 5 nights then let us do our own thing for a few weeks before the rurn flight

We always buy ours at the park. With the $ so weak it doesn't make sense to buy in £. Look on the US Disney website for prices.

My kids loved Universal but were teens, Your big two would enjoy it- not too sure about 2 yo.

Keep your eye on the www.thomsonauction.com website. Earlier on this year they had loads of flight tickets to Florida going very cheaply, some of them wern't selling and had a start bid of £40. You have to take the dates as shown but it may be worth while looking into. They also do fantastic deals on normal holidays in Europe.

Also try www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-flights for hints and tips on cheap flights.

Have you thought about a house swap for the holiday, eg swap your house for a villa for free. Think of the money saved. I found this site to one of the friendliest and most informative. www.homebase-hols.com

We went recently (November) and my 3 year old particularly loved Universal & Islands of Adventure. Parts of them are both really geared up for younger children, Islands of Adventure has Seuss Landing with loads of small rides and Universal has the Barney show and Barney Playground which I thought was really imaginative.

There is also a wet play area which is great for youger and older children. My 6 year old enjoyed all of the above too as well as the older rides - he went on everything he was tall enough for. There are some fab rides here which your older ones would love i'm sure.

As for Disney, my 2 were not that interested in Epcot, loved MGM and Magic Kingdom and parts of Animal Kingdom.

And again there are a lot of holiday villa magazines out there, that show villas from £400 per week. If you go for one of them instead of a hotel, you have the freedom to do what you want, whether beach or Disney. To many days at Disney can cause sensory overload and grumpy kids, a day or two at the beach will give them a chance to unwind as well. The Disney tickets can be non-consequtive I believe.

It is a good idea to go for a villa as we found we needed a day off between parks, around the pool. All of the parks are exhausting!
