Suggestions for a summer holiday with the following difficult customers please…

My Partner would like sun and a pool/beach and to do very little all day for a week.
My children (11 and 13) are at that funny age of not little kids needing entertainment 24/7 but would want something more adventurous and I think need something to do at least some of the time or part of each day.
I don’t like being too hot, but love the outdoors and a bit of culture and adventure, sitting still on a sun bed ALL day would bore me.

Thanks

@Sinuhe All travel is a catastrophe for the environment.

Actually, modern cruise ships are designed to be more more environmentally friendly than they used to be - and the numbers are dwarfed by cargo vessels, that have not been designed with the environment in mind. So in terms of impact, I think I’d start not buying from Amazon and anything made in China first.

Also, magine those 6,000 passengers all travelling separately, by plane and car, to even 1/7 of the places they visit. I don’t think that’s going to be much better environmentally.

I’m not saying cruising isn’t causing environmental damage, cause clearly it is, but your point is redundant on a post about forrin holidays.

I haven’t been on a cruise for yonks but the drivel wheeled out on MN about them all being stupid/ obese/ lazy oiks... is so far from the truth. Heck I’ve seen Olympic champs and a Channel 4 presenter (who you would probably think is TOTES liberal), on a cruise I took years ago (on family vacays, not there for work).
