Costa Adeje resort advice

Hi I'm looking for advice. Planning on booking a holiday to Tenerife in February (not half term) with my partner 3 year old and 9 month old.

I'm trying to decide between Tagoro resort and GF Isobel. Tagoro is about £300 cheaper but looks to be a bit further out from the centre and the beach. Is it worth paying more to be a bit closer. Has anyone stayed at either and can share their experience in terms of facilities to occupy little ones. They both look fairly similar.

The other thing was we are thinking of renting a car so potentially the distance would be ok as we would drive to the beach for the morning/afternoon. Although neither have on site parking

Any thoughts/advice appreciated

Hello,

I took my little one to Costa Adele and we stayed the GF GRAN which is next to the GF ISOBEL,

We used to go to the GF ISOBEL for the evening entertainment and some nights the gf fanabe opisit

The Isobel is perfect location, you can walk to the beach front within ten mins there's a great soft play on front where you can sit with a drink while little one plays, and also the right is Playa del Duque beach and restaurants which is just so clean and all within distance!

There also a shopping centre right outside the Isobel has cafes bars and again another soft play with a little train ride which we found so handy to break some up with a toddler

I couldn't fault location of the GF ISOBEL was perfect for us

I wouldn't hire a car, it would be easier and probably cheaper to get taxis to the beach.

Thank you @rayraymck this is really helpful advice. It's hard to know from stock photos what somewhere is like.

@rookiemere we were thinking it would be useful to have a car for day trips etc - thinking of going Aqualand and Jungle Park and maybe Loro Parque.

@Justdoingthisnow if you do hire a car I'd use Autoreisen as they are cheap and very good.

However I'm not sure what on street parking there would be near the Isobel, we got towed away a few years ago when we parked on a street to go to a restaurant. All the Canarian cars were left it was just the hire cars that were towed, so now we only park in car parks which makes it quite expensive.

The Isabel is a good location so you won't need a car for getting to the beach ( and parking slots are hard to find or you'd need to pay for the underground car park) get a taxi to Jungle Park and the water park. Loro Parque is about an hour's drive away - we've never actually been despite going to Tenerife 8 times Blush - if you really want to go, there are day trips that include a coach return.

I think with DCs the age you have there would be more than enough to do on the south side of the island.

I’ve always hired a car at the airport when stopping in costa adeje and used it for day trips and also saved money on transfers. With a family it will save you money. Loro parque definitely worth a visit. And the volcano.

Maybe we just were unlucky with the towing then @CovidCorvid .

It's expensive to park in CA so I would check what parking comes with the hotel.

Ah sounds like parking is a nightmare then. Both are street parking only. Perhaps we will give car hire a miss or look at renting for a day to cover a longer journey if we want to go up north.

Agree with two little ones we could probably easier stay in the south but everyone does rave about Loro Parque and I hear the landscape is different up north not that the little ones would be interested in that. So perhaps we could rent for a daytrip.

I think it is possible to hire a car from the centre for a day or two, if your transfers from the airport are included in the holiday cost I'd maybe do that for a couple of days in the middle.

There is a car park at playa del duque but it's expensive. The hotel will probably arrange transport to Loro parque and aqualand but to be honest with such tiny children it may not be worth the hassle.

The weather can often be very different in the north too. Last time we were there in February it was gorgeous in CA and grim when we drove to puerto de La Cruz for the day!

Any suggestions for a nice 4 star hotel ( 5 star if it's not wildly expensive ) or apartments in Costa Adeje ?
Adults and late teens holiday. Very close to the beach, with a pool, near cafes, bars restaurants. Teen not bothered about night life. The quieter one is coming with us Smile
We just want to relax with a bit of heat.

Must admit we didn’t use it much round Adeje itself as we were close to the beach. The apartment we stayed in had free use of a carpark round the corner. Another time we stayed near the old dolphin place/aquapark and that hotel/villa complex had a car park. Neither were very upmarket places but fine for what we wanted.

I’ve visited the Dreams Jardin Tropical hotel (but not stayed there), great pool. Dd made me promise we’d stay there if we went back. Very close to the beach.

Another question we were planning on going all inclusive for ease with the two little ones but now thinking perhaps we would be better to go half board (I'm thinking that's breakfast and evening meal). Those who have stayed at gf Isabel do you know if you can upgrade to all inclusive for 1-2 days (I have contacted hotel but no answer yet). Also wondering if you can make a pack lunch if you are all inclusive.

@Justdoingthisnow not been, but based on location I would go HB in preference over AI. There's lots of cheap eateries nearby and it gives you more flexibility. Also I think most of the accommodation at the Isabel have kitchenettes.

Thanks all but concerned about the sleeping arrangements at gf Isabel it says twin beds and a sofa bed for 2 adults and a toddler. I guess there will be a travel cot or I'll bring one for my 10 months old. Would much prefer a double bed and a single but doesn't seem to be that option for any of the ones on jet2. Might have to go back to the drawing board.
