Easyjet or Norwegian

We're finally in a position to be able to go on our first family holiday (2 adults, 4 kids) and will be visiting family in Copenhagen this summer.

I've used Norwegian in the past and they were fine, but I was wondering if anyone had used Easyjet recently and could tell me whether it was good or downright awful? Their prices are just under £200 cheaper and that's with hold luggage.

TIA.

For £200 less I'd go with Easyjet! It's not a particularly long flight and I've never had an issue with them. Make sure the price includes everything you might need e.g. bags, seats together etc and don't get sucked into buying unnecessary extras. I don't think they're any worse than companies such as BA for short haul flights.

I use easyJet all the time and never had a particular issue with them. Have also flown Norwegian although less often. For that price difference I'd choose easyJet without a moment's hesitation.

That’s great to hear. I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews on Trustpilot, but there are also a few negative ones and obviously they’re the ones that’s going to draw more attention . Just don’t need more stress Grin

I've just had a quick look and see bad reviews from people who are annoyed and looking for someone to blame about their oversized baggage, incorrect covid tests or inadequate insurance. Very few of them seem to be about the actual flight experience, which has always been fine for me.

(I work in the travel industry and you would be amazed at what people will complain about, and more often than not it's just because they forgot to pack their brain when they went on holiday!)

Used both, never had a problem with either.

@jlgsy94 I once flew easyjet every week for nearly a year (business commute) and never left a review but never had any issues. Never had a flight cancelled (unlike BA who's solution was to send you to LHR instead of LGW), bags always arrived, it usually left on time or close to it.....

Norwegian have had serious financial difficulties. I really would tread carefully with them. See attached. My DD had an awful time with them a few years ago. A replacement aircraft, no food. 12 hours late etc….

Oh wow, I was not aware of this! So, message to take home is stay clear of Norwegian and use Easyjet?

Ah thought you were a different person commenting! It will have to be one of the two, as I don't want to pay fees akin to daylight robbery. I don't need all the bells and whistles, just a carrier that will get me where I need to go on time.

@jlgsy94
I like a few bells and whistles! T5 Heathrow being one.

Easy Jet made losses of over £1 billion last year and that was on top of losses of in excess of £1 billion the year before.

Therefore check the financial pages. Norwegian had been in trouble for a few years. Many airlines are struggling but Norwegian was essentially bankrupt.

Sorry I posted twice - brain failure.

I like Easyjet, they generally sit you together even if you don't pay for it. I wouldn't wait too long before booking, flight prices are going up daily now that foreign travel seems a bit more likely.

@GCITC How did you get on? I decided to book with EasyJet in the end, even with hold luggage etc it was still almost £200 cheaper than Norwegian, so couldn’t say no! Fingers crossed my flight goes on 28/07 😁

I’ve used both, admittedly pre covid but within two moths of restrictions. I’ve never had any problem wit ether f them but fr the price difference I’d be inclined to go with EasyJet.
