Solar pool heating in Spain in April... warm enough?

I'm looking at booking a villa 14th April for a week near Malaga. The villa I like has solar pool heating and I was curious if anyone knew whether this would make it warm enough to swim?
I'm aware it's weather dependent but the weather seems to be around 20-22 degrees during this time but obviously cooler at night.

I have 3 kids who would love swimming every day so just don't want to waste on a fancy pool if it's not actually going to be swimmable (not sure if that's a word!) in.

Thanks :)

No, unless you like swimming in freezing cold water :)

Actually I just read your message again - do you mean solar heating as warmed directly by the heat of the sun, or powered by solar to PV panels and heated using electricity?

The former, probably too cold, the latter, it depends!

I think it's warmed directly by heat of the sun unfortunately.
Was about to book and it occurred to me about the pool temp so now I'm a bit gutted.

If the listing states solar pool heating this means it has a heating system powered by a solar panel. A friend has this at her house in Spain and the pool is always nice and warm. April in Malaga is normally warm enough to swim in even an unheated pool.

Every outdoor pool in Spain gets the sun on it, no one would describe that as solar heating!

We stayed at a campsite in the mountains above Malaga that had a pool heated by solar panels in May a few years back. It was lovely and warm, but it was during a heatwave.

It will probably depend on the set up, but if they have a pool heater that is powered by solar panels, then it could well be warm enough, but that would depend on the wattage of the system and the volume of the pool as to whether it is capable of heating a pool to a comfortable temperature.

Possibly. We live in Spain. My kids sometimes swim in our pool towards the end of April, (not heated) if it's particularly warm - however even if we have a few warm days it's not enough to warrant a long swim, they usually spend about 10 minutes jumping in and out and then give up. So not sure it would be warm enough to heat solar panels enough.
We are about 4 hours from Malaga so not sure what it's like there weather wise in April. We usually get rain early - mid April!

Whereabouts in Spain are you exactly? We are thinking if booking the Costa Dorada for early/mid April and am worried the weather won't be pleasant enough yet 😟

We are in the Region of Murcia, so quite a bit further down, south east of the country.
