Off the beaten track Turkey

I'm looking at going away in October half term. Does anyone have any recommendations of off the beaten track beach resorts in Turkey? A couple of years ago I went to Cirali and absolutely loved it but the flights to Antalya at half term are extortionate so I'm hoping to maybe fly into a different area. I'm after a good beach, good restaurants and absolutely no brits abroad style entertainment. Thank you in advance!

Dalaman is on a river with boats to an amazing beach that I don't think any buildings are allowed -lots of other things to do. Nearest airport Dalyan. May be slightly more developed than we went 7years ago - was popular for day trips and quieter to stay than most places

Sorry got mixed up Dalaman is the airport and Dalyan the place. Beach is turtle beach with a preservation order on it.

I've not been for a few years but Adrasan (sometimes known as Cavuskoy) would fit the bill. It used to be very underdeveloped - just a few hotels and restaurants and a lovely beach but I think there is a little more there now. It's still pretty much off the beaten track though. The downside for you is that Antalya is the nearest airport, a couple of hours away.

Kas is a very nice town with pebble beaches about 20 minutes from Kalkan.A bit of a trek from Dalaman airport though.
Fly into Izmir airport and it's about an hour to Alacati an old Greek town. It's good for windsurfers and the town itself has a great Saturday market. The Cesme peninsula is popular with Turks.

Selimye and the bozburun peninsula would fit the bill. Kas is nice but more developed than cirali

Sorry now, but there is no way I would go to Turkey while that despot Erdogan is still in charge. Also check the exchange rate, the Turkish Lira is in trouble at the moment.

Having said that I did travel to Turkey many years ago and loved it. Up around Canakkale and Gallipoli, but that may not be suitable for you.

There is a YouTube channel called Tread the Globe following a couple who intended to travel the world by campervan, but due to Covid have been stuck in Turkey for over a year now. Some fascinating stuff there about out of the way places. How easy they are to get to by plane I don't know, but google will help!

Bon voyage.

Dalyan is lovely, but not "off the beaten track".
A beautiful place to visit (no building allowed over 3 floors), rock tombs, protected wildlife beach (no one allowed overnight, turtles nesting etc). The river trips are beautiful, and many good walks for that time of year.
But ... The town is certainly touristy and everyone speaks English, so not 'old fashioned Turkey' if that is what you are looking for.

Turtle beach is lovely but is a popular day trip that runs from Marmaris so not off the beaten track. Look at Samsun I went on an exchange trip when I was 16, lovely beach on the Black Sea.

What kind of holiday are you looking for? If you’re not the lay on the beach do nothing type, how about having a look on sky scanner for the cheapest flight to any airport in turkey and travel around by coach (you’d probably need two weeks for this). You could stop off at different places as there’s so much more to Turkey than cheap beach all inclusives.

Coach travel is cheap and affordable and you could stay in lots of different places and avoid the main touristy places. That said, definitely spend time in Istanbul - incredible city. Also be sure to visit Van - perhaps consider starting in Istanbul and traveling across country ending up in Van. A very different vibe to Antalya for example.

Akyaka is a town where many Turks holiday. Interesting architecture, a crystal clear river and a decent beach.
