Travelling Unvaccinated

Has anyone had any experience of the travelling unvaccinated? I’ll be travelling soon with someone who isn’t vaccinated and with all the changes I’m worried this may be an issue.
Unless things change the country we are going to requires PCR for all and returning to the UK they will have to isolate.
I’m concerned they will be given unnecessary grief.

I work in travel testing. Experience is very different in different countries. Really depends where you going.

@Lolalime I went to greece before being vaccinated. All fine. Just showed the documents - no discussion needed. And you can get full travel insurance including Covid cover and Covid cancellation even if unvaccinated. PM me if you want details.

Has anyone on here not travelled unvaccinated?
I have
End of October
West African country which required everyone to have negative PCR test before travel
Was all OK
Followed the rules once we got there and made sure I had all the test booked/done before coming back
Quarantined once back in UK
Other than cost of all the test all was pretty straightforward (as straightforward as things get in the country I travelled to)
Have to say that covid was least of my worries health wise when there/ on the way back
None of the group of the people who travelled to the same events managed to test positive for covid at any of the tests we had to do.
Would say about 90% of us not vaccinated
2 people couldn't arrive from UK as tested positive on predeparture test ( they were mightly pissed of as they were actually fully vaccinated)
No-one gave me any grief about my vaccination status
But that's my experience
If you are worried and anxious maybe better not to travel at all

Thanks for sharing, MrsBilly.

It really does depend on where you are going.

@Ylvamoon

Once there, there are no requirements to wear masks or social distance

Judging by this, your family member is very foolish to travel to this utopian country.

The risk of catching covid-19 is very high. How their body reacts to this virus, will depend on a multitude of things. If they are no vaccinated due to health reasons, then I would postpone any travel plans.

If not, thy should get vaccinated.

Why is the risk of catching COVID high? You don’t know where they are going. It could be somewhere like Samoa where their grand total of 3 cases of COVID have all recovered.
