Hi
Is anyone travelling to Mauritius this Christmas? I'm getting nervous about the Covid situation there. I'd like to change our booking but cannot get through to BA which is completely unacceptable and extremely frustrating.

What’s actually criminal is that millions of people worldwide have not got a roof over their heads and you’re here moaning about a £1000s holiday that you were daft enough to book in the first place in the middle of a bloody pandemic! You need some perspective in your life.

Can I just say, Mauritius is not on Germany’s red list, and far from it. It’s on the high-incidence list - which equals the previous amber list in the UK. It was ‘green’ until last week. It’s the same list the UK has been on since July. People can travel between the two countries, but isolation is required on arrival unless you’re fully vaccinated, that’s all. It’s not a red list.

I have friends in Mauritius right now (who live there, not on holiday) and yes, they’re in lockdown. Leisure activities are very restricted and they’re planning low-key Christmas and/or NY celebrations.

Can your BA booking be amended online by any chance?

I feel for all those whose plans look very uncertain right now. The situation keeps changing and it’s all very unpredictable.

Thanks. I already have all the contact details- they just don't reply to any of the options-phone, text, email, Twitter, online chat- all say I have to speak to an advisor...

@Borisjohnsonshairbrush that's really helpful thank you. I'm starting to think it's best to just take DD to family on the continent and get her second jab. This one jab business is really annoying.

Yes it takes a little while to get to the person you keep have to type in ‘speak to someone’ but it does work. I’ve rearrange/cancelled 4 holidays with them in the last couple of months.

Seeing as Mauritius have extended their covid restrictions until 15th January we've cancelled our flights with Air Mauritius who are processing a full refund.

Thank you. Having said that I called BA yesterday and they answered within 30 seconds!
You got luckySmile I also got through after 8 days of trying and I'm super relieved that I have been able to postpone until Oct 2022. Phew! Let's hope it's all safe to travel again by then.

I'm heartbroken for their economy. I hope all the families that rely on Xmas tourism will be able to get some help.
