Hi ladies,
I've done a bit of research into where might be appropriate but am a bit uninspired, hope you may have some ideas.
So, after 2 years of not going abroad, we really fancy 2 to 3 weeks in the sun in January or Feb.
Looking at 5 (ie proper, Four Seasons/Mandarin Oriental version of 5) hotel or ideally garden suite type places.
Very open to anywhere in the world.
Business or First Class flights.
Only constraints are:
Not Dubai
Not anywhere with so much poverty that it's dangerous (was looking at Tulum, Mexico but put off by reports of cartel murders just outside hotels!). Don't fancy India, DH used to work out there and always came back very ill.
It would be nice to go somewhere aimed at adults only but not too bothered about that aspect.
We would never go to big resorts, we like things like Four Seasons private islands in the Maldives type of thing where everything is basically bungalows on beaches with private pools etc.
Any ideas gratefully received.
DH is paying so knock yourselves out Grin

There are two 4S in the Seychelles, I'd do a week on each. But I don't think you can fly direct at the moment.

In Mauritius I'd look at The Royal Palm, I understand that the 4S is very spread out and the beach isn't the best.

Soveva in Maldives is worth a look.

Having sad this I'd probably choose the Caribbean at that time of year.
Jumby Bay
The Mandarin Oriental Canouan
4S Nevis
Petit St Vincent

Wow so many fantastic options!! I knew I could rely on you lot Smile
Right I’m going to hunker down by the fire and do some research into all of these.
I think I’ll get 2 or 3 fully planned options but only book 2 weeks ahead; ds has had 3 cancellations of a wedding in Barbados because their Covid rules are so strict; if 1 person tests positive after landing the whole plane load of people have to quarantine, wedding or no wedding.
Thanks everyone, much appreciated x

Have a look at Jade mountain on St Lucia. PCR test requirement not too onerous.

Oh God, it all sounds so delicious!

I could afford a trip like this, and am very fortunate in that regard, but the length of the journey would be just too much for me. I wish it wasn't so, but it is, due to illness, and frankly even if I was fully well I have gone off such long journeys now, glad I did them when I was younger!

Sorry for dampening the mood. OP I hope you have a wonderful time, and maybe you will let us know what you have decided? I can dream along lol.

Hmm, so far I’m struggling as so many of the suggested options have very stringent Covid rules involving quarantine, and a lot of testing. Apparently the world doesn’t want our filthy English plague ridden business.

But I will plough on and find something 😊

I desperately want to stay here when the DC have left home: www.pacuarelodge.com/

Mauritius has strict testing at the moment - you test before flying, on arrival and again 5 days into your stay.

Maldives much less strict, just test before flying.

No idea on other destinations

I suspect you will rule it out as Dubai, but Oman is absolutly fabulous, and totally not Dubai.
Al Baleed (In Salalah) might fit your requirements for covid testing lite with summer sun.

One of the Hawaiian islands, we are off there ourselves in late Jan. Perfect time to visit.

It’s such a personal thing. Oman is more interesting than Dubai. Costa Rica is gorgeous, especially if you love nature. The Maldives will probably come closest to what you say you want. St Kitts or Dominica are lovely. Sri Lanka is a good call. I’ve never been to the Seychelles and I have no idea about COVID regulations!
