We are going to Sharm in January and I would like some tips. Anyone been there with small ones and any advice concerning the flight would be good. I am thinking that I should keep with formula as far as drinks are concerned. TIA.

I would most definately but Dirolyte and anything else for a dodgy tummy as possible in my case. Also, if they do get a dodgy tummy consider asking the reception where the nearest chemist is ... it cost us £60 for dirolyte for ds at the docs, where as it cost us £8 for dirolyte for dd from the chemist. Also most of the food is catered for Russians and Germans. We loved the place, we went in 2005

Thanx for that

hi, just got back from there with my 3 children. sorry to tell you, but I was ill and so were 2 of the kids! stomach ache galore. I did the usual and avoided tap water, salad, and anything else we should, but still we were hit with it! my 22 month old was worse, he had sickness and dioarhea for 8 days and needless to say we couldn't leave the room for most of that. as said before me, take loads of rehydration drinks, take snacks that the kids recognise as the food is definately catering for russians (pickled veg) etc, take hand gel to clean hands literally just before eating espcially if its buffet service as i noted russians never wash there hands in the ladies then go straight to the restaurant!! yuk! take something really warm for the evenings as it was suprisingly cold (i'd say you need more than a cardi). food is usually available in the restaurant from 7.00pm which can be a bit late for little ones, but room service is very cheap so we just did that to make sure they weren't hungry and then we had ours with them later. sorry if it all sounds bad, it isn't but please be cautious or you may have a ruined holiday like us!

with regards to the flight if they are over 2 they will get a seat to themselves which is a bonus. we flew with first choice and decided to pay an extra £45.00 for extra leg room seats which was an abolute must as its very cramped with babies or toddlers on your laps for 5 hours. they are not allowed to sit with you for take off or landing in those seats but they can when your up in the air, or just take turns every hour at having a whole seat to yourself!

a malysian friend of mine who travels extensivly always recommends getting hold of Yakult where ever she goes, says its the only thing that keeps the dodgy tummies at bay!

DH and I were there last Jan when I was 24 wks preg. We had a great time, no dodgy tummies, but would agree that there were hunners of Russians there. I also second how blardy cold it is at night. Jeans and jackets required. I also remember us saying how great a place it would be for families. Enjoy!
