I'm off to Spain with DD (age 16) on 20 October.
I've just about managed to work out that she needs to have a negative PCR test before departure (she is single jabbed) and that I (double jabbed) don't need this. Am
I ok with the NHS app on my phone that details my vaxx? I've started our Spain health forms.

For her PCR before travel, does Spain accept the cheaper PCRs that you do at home? Are they reliable in the time frame?

Also, is it ok to book our day 2 tests nearer the time, as it seems that the UK is going to relax this one (hopefully) v soon. If we do have to do this, can I order home tests that will arrive shortly before we travel just so as I can complete the passenger locator form with those details before we leave Spain? Thanks

Also... is an Antigen test ok for DD for Spain? Has anyone done this instead of a PCR?

Have a look at Jet2 website I found it really helpful. It separates it out by destination.

Ps wrt to day 2 tests, I’m holding out booking those as there should be announcement soon about only needing lateral flow rather than PCR.

We're on holiday in Spain. Your dd will need a PCR test, which must be done within 72 hours of your departure time. We used Assured Screening for an at home test which I dropped off at a collection point, we had the result by 10pm the same day, cost £65.

We travel back at the weekend and I haven't ordered our day 2 tests yet, you get sent a code when you buy them which you add to the Passenger Locator forms, these are completed within 48 hours of your return flight. I'd def hold out on ordering those as it will probably change to LFT before your return flight.

I uploaded mine and DH's covid vac certs and our DD's neg PCR result to our Ryanair booking. You also need to complete the form for each of you on the Spanish Travel Health app and upload your certificates to them.

All these travel rules are doing my head in too! It seems straight forward if you are an adult who has had 2 vaccinations, but not if you have a teenager. Does 1 vaccination count as fully vaccinated since in the Uk they are not offering a second vaccination to teenagers atm?

Lemonsole · 07/10/2021 19:31

No, it doesn't. They count as unvaccinated.
So for Spain DD will need a PCR done within 72 hours of travel.

Dd is 17 but double vaccinated so I assume she doesn't need to do a test?
