Is it a good holiday destination? For water sports, snorkeling, hiking, and relaxing?
Thinking about Christmas time with older teens.
Thoughts?

I'll caveat this by saying we've not visited for 8 years, but we've been there 5 times. Our last visit we rented a villa and pool for a family get together but we normally ended up in an hotel somewhere along Grand Anse beach.

If you don't mind hills, and narrow roads, driving is fine.

It isn't as commercial as Barbados or St Lucia.

Check what their Covid precautions are maybe (I've seen a few horror stories about holidaymakers being whisked off to quarantine hospitals in Barbados).

I loved Grenada and have visited the Caribbean a fair bit. It's quieter than other islands but beautiful and that was part of the charm.

We are going on Tuesday week.

You need to be double vaccinated and two weeks after the last vaccine.

@Outbutnotoutout I'd love to hear how it goes. Are you going with kids?
What things are there to do there?

@Outbutnotoutout do you feel comfortable going ? We are supposed to be going similar time but concerned re massive Covid spike. Not worried getting it , just attitude of locals towards tourists and worry of it going red.making decision this weekend so if you have any up to date knowledge to share would be really interested as so want to go.

In answer to op, yes it’s fabulous. Less commercialised then more American type islands. I don’t think there’s much to see or do in terms of sights. Capital tiny with a few shops and a tiny museum, chocolate factory was fun. After the first visit we basically flob and eat so not best judge! But sure there are plenty of water sport type activities.
I think our teens preferred Tobago though. It’s a bit bigger and more happening. Bigger towns and amazing rain forest interior with trips to waterfalls etc

We were looking at it but the quarantine impact put us off . I think teens need to have had 2 jabs

@Outbutnotoutout & @Cecillie in regards to the vaccination requirements are they accepting one dose for teens under 18 years? Its not particularly clear from my reading of the entry requirements.

I'm not sure as have no under 18s
My concern would be that Covid levels currently very high , if a single jabbed teen picked up virus , though unlikely to be ill , a positive test might be a nightmare

I think fully vaccinated means two doses. There will be a lot of Americans there and I think in the States under 18s have been given 2 doses.

I'm not worried at all I'm quite excited 😆

Two adults going, no kids, we have to quarantine for 48hrs when we get there, until your PCR test come back. BUT we have a private beach at the hotel so can go there still.

We are both double jabbed.

BE AWARE...you need to do a travel authorisation form before you travel, but you need payment receipt for your arrival PCR test, done at the airport.

TBH we are just going to swim in the sea and relax

Yes everyone needs two doses and the last dose has to be at least two weeks from when you fly

I was looking into booking a Caribbean trip recently and looked at Grenada. But the 48 hours quarantine, mask requirements, curfews and limited opening hours of public places (including limited access to beaches) put me off - it all looked a bit limiting. But if you’re just after somewhere to go and not leave the resort you might feel differently. They have ‘no movement’ weekends so you could be caught up with that too.

Our hotel has its own beach and swimming pool. I'm exempt from mask wearing, but I guess that might not be ok over there.

We are looking at beach, swimming and relaxing
