Travel rules for unvaccinated under 18s

Does anyone know whether the stricter rules for unvaccinated people (day 2 and 8 testing after arriving back in UK) from next month also apply to under 18s who've not had two jabs?

@jackstini We have just booked Rhodes for half term. As I understand it… To enter Greece:
Me & Dh - both double jabbed- show NHS app as proof.
Ds1 -17- had Covid in July and 1st jab in September- he can enter Greece with a proof of recovery certificate on his NHS app
Ds2 -14 - either a negative PCR 72 hours before departure OR a negative antigen 48 hrs before departure.
Hopefully he will get his one and only Jab soon, so will count as fully vaccinated and no need for tests before we go.
Flying home - no in resort pre flight LFT required for any of us. Either a day 2 PCR or LFT once home.

If I’m wrong please someone correct me on all that 🤦‍♀️🤣

@chardonnay73

As the EU are giving two doses to 12-15 year olds, I don't think your son's single dose will count as "fully vaccinated".

For everyone else, please check FCDO website for entry requirements to your country of choice, and then sign up for alerts in case of changes. Mediterranean countries have had fairly stable requirements over the last couple of months but you never know.

Scroll down under Shapps' tweet.
He RTs the BBC correspondent and she reports what the DfT has confirmed regarding under 18s being treated as vaccinated adults.

Chardonnay73 - I doubt one Pfizer jab will count as fully vaccinated even if they are only being offered one, so I suspect your DS2 will still need a test to enter Greece. But it hasn't been made clear. At the moment I don't think the app is set up for under 16s but hopefully it will catch up.

Jackstini, surely it will depend on the country and you need to check their websites? Although the Netherlands haven’t updated theirs since they announced something different. We won’t book until we are sure we can go as we can’t leave DS behind…
