Transiting through Italy-COVID rules?

We booked to go to Greece in half term but our flights have now been cancelled 😠 .
To book direct flights is another £2K minimum so we’ve looked at indirect flights so flying London-Italy- Greece. This works out at less than £500.
We would only be transiting in Italy, not leaving the airport. I can’t work out the rules even though I have had a good look.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, or has anyone done this?
Def don’t want to cancel as we got a great deal on the hotel and the kids are really looking forward to it. Don’t mind the faff of passenger locator forms/tests. Children are 9, 12 and 14 so not sure if that makes a difference to testing. Thank you wise people!

The rules for Italy are that the adults must be vaccinated and everyone (possibly not the 9-year old) must do an LFT less than 48 hours before arrival. You also need to fill in a passenger locator form, you can find a link to it on the UK government travel info website. You need to create a login to fill it in (I was looking today!).

It is very possible that the rules for Greece are the same/compatible so you won't need to do more to travel through Italy than you were going to do anyway (it may become apparent as you fill in the passenger locator form that it's not necessary, I don't know, I haven't filled one in (yet)).
