Villa on a resort? Or anything similar that worked for your family of 5?!

We haven't been abroad in 12 years and are looking to book for next year (hopefully!).

The DC will be 17, 14 and 12 by the return date. We would like to all be together rather than 2 apartments or rooms which is what is mostly coming up.

DH had the idea of a villa but on a resort but they seem ££'s! Getting the best of both worlds I guess. Do these exist realistically? We would like our own nice base to chill at but also be able to get up and go for breakfast in a restaurant on site or use the pools/amenities.

We could fly from London Gatwick, Heathrow, Bournemouth or Southampton. Would also need school summer holidays 2022 (although DH suggesting June where cheaper but I worry about them missing more college/school)

Can anyone recommend anywhere? We would like to book soon so we have something to look forward to and budget for. TIA!

Sun Gardens Dubrovnik or Martinhal Sagres get my vote. Both were brilliant accommodations with my children.

Eden resort as mentioned before - lovely. We went to Salema a bit further down in the Algaeve near Lagos - but you’ll need
Car as it’s a small place. Photos are of Salema and the beach in Aug

We stayed on Rhodes a few years ago and got upgraded to a suite, had 3 bedrooms and a mini private pool! Gorgeous suite and huge for 2 people.

Hotel had b&b, HB or AI as options booked through travel republic. No idea on prices now but we paid £250 for the room, b&b then and paid for flights direct from EasyJet

We rented a house in Ferragudo (Algarve) last September. It was in a small cul-de-sac of houses 10 mins walk to a beautiful big beach and similar distance to the small harbour town. We just used the ground floor of the house but there was also a self contained apartment upstairs, or use the house all as one. It had a private garden and a pool which was shared by a few of the houses though we mostly got it to ourselves. I found it on Airbnb and the price was really reasonable for such a well equipped house.

We just arrived back yesterday from the Cascade in Lagos which was fabulous. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment on the resort which included breakfast ( taken at the hotel) and daily room cleaning service. Near lots of fabulous beaches and loads to go in the area.

What kind of amenities are you looking for? How about a B&B - we stayed at a lovely one recently that had 4 separate villas, so you had the privacy but they also provided breakfast, cleaning and there was a big pool. No resort evening entertainment and such though. Maybe that would be an option?

Following as this is something I've looked into before but never found anything in budget. Problem for us is we have 3 DCs so really need 3 bedrooms, especially now they are teens/pre-teens. We usually opt for a villa which gives us the space for a reasonable price but obvs no socialising options for the kids!

A 2 bed apartment in a complex would work well for you.

Lots of places have them but I'd look at Greece, Balearics and canaries as your best bet of finding one.

Just found Aparthotel Duva in Puerto Pollenca has 2 bedroom apartments and a bed in lounge. We have friends who have stayed there previously and loved it.
