I'm looking for a short break in England and feel a bit lost. Can anyone please recommend me some locations to inspire my search?

Two adults, 2 kids (7&10) and two GPs - one is v elderly and one can't walk well. We need somewhere where the kids can still run about a bit and the GPs can kinda sit and watch them / watch the world go by.

Any successful trips you can tell me about?

South Kent coast, New Forest, Bournemouth/Christchurch, West Sussex coast ? Depends where you are and how far you are able to travel but each could be a base in themselves with beach/scenery on the doorstep but other places to visit if you can spare half a day while gps rest

Look up Daish holidays. They own about 8 hotels in locations like Weymouth, Bournemouth, Isle of Wight etc. You can do self drive or go there by coach. They are aimed at older people but there is entertainment in the evening (quiz followed by live music or dancing type thing)and we have had some good multi generational holidays with them. The Weymouth Hotel was really nice, right in the centre on the sea front. Child friendly meals are included too.

Stratford upon Avon is nice. Not just for the Shakespeare connection but the town centre is lovely for a walk around.
There is a butterfly farm, a ferris wheel, river boat journeys, maybe take in a show at the RSc (covid permitting) .
The Riverside and grounds are nice so you could sit along there, on the benches or take a picnic and relax whilst the kids play, there are quite a few cafes and restaurants as well though (Huffkins bakery is my go-to for a breakfast bap, cake and a tea).

The walk around may be a bit much all at once depending on your parent's mobility needs but there are lots of little places they could perhaps stop for a coffee break whilst you carry on exploring.
Hope you find something suitable and enjoy yourselvesSmile

Eastbourne? We've stated here before, it's right on the front with sea view rooms and cafe with terrace. www.theviewhoteleastbourne.com

Lytham St Anne's.
Long flat promenade. Lots of sandy beach.
I recall a boating pond in one direction and Blackpool in the other.

I highly recommend Searles in Hunstanton. It's very accessible (accessible lodges, accessible seafront, hoist to get wobbly people into and out of the very warm pool if they fancy that). Loads for kids to do. My 8 year old loves it and we did take the GPs one time too.

North Norfolk.
