Is the nhs app sufficient for proof of vaccination for entry to Greece?

I’ve got it on the nhs app. Double jabbed with Pfizer (second dose back in March). Paranoid I need some other special pass I’ve never heard of! Thanks in advance xx

Via the app you can download a pdf with full details - this is referred to as your NHS COVID pass. I would definitely download it before attending the airport in case of WiFi issues, and personally I will be printing out a copy to keep with my passport etc - as a pp said, I don't fancy juggling luggage, paperwork, toddler and phone!

@Medstudent12 I'm pretty sure the NHS App is fine for Greece (at the moment anyway). Try looking on the Tripadvisor Forums for more info, there are people on there that have already travelled and are there or have returned recently.

Geamhradh · 01/07/2021 12:25

travel.gov.gr/#/
Seems to be fine.

Watapalava · 01/07/2021 20:08

the travel advice on gov.uk tells you everything you need to know to get into each country

Wegobshite · 02/07/2021 11:27

I’ve just gone on the NHS app
And you can get it emailed to you if you have had both hand
Mine has all my personal details on it so I assume that so it will match my passport
And a QR code
And helps that the full info on what jab I have had
You can download it and then print it out
It’s only good for 30 days
But if I did it again next week it would last another 30 days from that point

Hopefully this is just a timing issue as the Indian vaccine should eventually be EU approved but this is a bit of a curveball….

Geamhradh · 02/07/2021 12:36

Another (hopefully minor) curveball is that I was speaking to a friend in Athens yesterday, and she said there's some new restrictions coming in regarding restaurant etc capacity. It sounded bonkers, something about if you're vaccinated you sit in room A and if not, room B which will have less capacity. I googled and it does sound like they're going to be a lot of checks going on.
I'd thought about Greece if I can't get to Spain!

Babysharkdoodoodood · 02/07/2021 12:42

I've also linked the MyGP App to my nhs account. You have to take a selfie and use with your id

So now I have 3 apps with my status on and also ordered a paper copy.

All this for Ibiza in October. Sigh Grin

Medstudent12 · 02/07/2021 15:40

@Babysharkdoodoodood ooh I only have the NHS app. Didn't know there were more!

Also your username has got baby shark stuck in my head!

I will try remember to post about how it was getting through if I make it to Greece xx

I am. Going to crete in five days.
I am not worried, nhs app... Will screen shot the qr code too.
I have done my Greece plf
I went last October, and there was lots of talk before about rules.. Masks... Restrictions etc.
When we got there... Very relaxed, masks only when going up to buffet... It was lovely

Watapalava · 03/07/2021 09:51

Who have people used for tests please?

99victoria · 05/07/2021 21:13

We're in Kefalonia at the moment. I printed pdf copies of our vaccine certificates along with copies of our Greek PLFs - it just made things quicker. All very straightforward at airport- took no longer than usual. Testing on arrival, result by text before we arrived at our hotel. Can honestly say we have barely given covid a thought since we arrived - no masks needed by the pool or on the beach or when eating outside in the beautiful warm sunny weather- so glad we came Smile

Remmy123 · 06/07/2021 11:42

Someone on the need was saying you need the actual NHS official letter.

99victoria · 06/07/2021 15:39

No, you don't- loads of people on our flight were showing their vaccination status on their phones

Franklin12 · 06/07/2021 19:23

I have ordered my Day 2 test with screen 4. Looked at Randox but they ask you drop the tests at their Drop Box locations and the nearest one to us is nearly 1 hour away. I have the reference number so if it gets messed up or lost in the post I have tried my best. Screen4 allow you to post in a Priority Royal Mail post box and there are 1000’s of them.

Spaceman1 · 07/07/2021 08:41

@99victoria what do you mean by vaccination certificates? Did you print these from the app? My DD will be 14 but hasn't been vaccinated, do you think she will be allowed to go to Greece mid August?

PicsInRed · 07/07/2021 08:45

OP, here are the current rules for entry to Greece.

travel.gov.gr/#/

Have a lovely hol 🎉✈

99victoria · 07/07/2021 10:26

We did print ours off from the app but just for convenience- we could have just shown the QR code on our phones.
Presumably you just need to get a Fit to Fly test for your daughter

Spaceman1 · 07/07/2021 14:03

@PicsInRed @99victoria This seems easier than I thought it would be, yippee!

ArabellaPilkington · 09/07/2021 10:46

I'm in Majorca at the mo and also printed off QR code for Spanish Health and Covid pass even though have both on my phone - it's much easier when you're grappling for stuff and certainly at Palma they want to see both in quick succession so switching between apps takes a lot longer than showing two bits of paper - which I had in a see through sleeve both facing outwards so just had to flip it over - easy peasy. Will def do this when going to Greece next month with family.

Spaceman1 · 10/07/2021 07:13

I've spoken to Tui and they recommend a company called chronomics to do all the tests for you. Holidays are on to Rhodes in August even if Greece stays on amber and maybe after 19 July we won't have to self isolate when we get back...

Theredjellybean · 10/07/2021 15:49

In crete at moment... It was very easy, I'd printed the Greek plf form with qr code.
Showed that... They let all family members through to baggage reclaim and only lead named person on form had to queue and get lft tested
I had negative result by time I was on coach to go to hotel.
No one wanted to see our nhs vaccination qr codes... Even at Gatwick they barely glanced at them before putting sticker on our passport to show we'd been checked.
Its a glorious 34 degrees here... ☺

Theredjellybean · 10/07/2021 15:50

Also we bought the test package for going home via tui.. Cost £50 each with chromoniacs

Spaceman1 · 10/07/2021 21:26

@Theredjellybean I hope you are enjoying Crete! Did they charge you for the test when you arrived or did you arrange that in advance?
