Boots PCR test suitable for travelling?
TigerLils · 28/06/2021 16:05
Planning on going to Mallorca at the beginning of July. Does anyone have any experience with Boots PCR tests? Are they ‘fit to fly’ tests? Has anyone travelled and used this service ?

Yep both myself and oh have used it in the last month , and we had no issues! Enjoy!

Thanks everyone. We booked everything except the tests and dead excited to go.
Can I ask if anyone knows if we can book in store COVID 19 rapid antigen testing service (£59.99) or does it have to be the at home PCR test?
We will be pressed on time as travelling on Tuesday morning (very early) but need to have a negative test (no longer than 48hrs before)

I thought it can be taken up to 72 hours before entry into Spain?

It doesn't have to be a home PCR test, but it does need to be a PCR test - the rapid antigen test is a lateral flow test.

Thanks everyone!
Just in case it’s helpful info for anyone, the Boots PCR test is not suitable for travel to the Balearic Islands. You need a test negative 48hours prior to arrival. So to be fully covered you need a same day or next day test. Boots advises that it takes 24-48 hours to receive the test so unless it’s super tight to be able to do a test within 48hours prior to arrival and also allow 48 hours to receive the test.
I booked a next day result test, fingers crossed it will be all good ☺️

If you're double vaccinated do you still need a negative test before flying to Spain?
TigerLils · 01/07/2021 18:14
If you are travelling to the Balearic Island and double vaccinated you don’t need a PCR test (mainland Spain is different as its amber)
You need to have your 2nd jab two weeks before you travel though, so for example you can’t have your vaccine on the 5th and travel on the 6th of July without a PCR test.
